"Stayed for three nights over Xmas. The walk from the pub to the accommodation was across a muddy unpaved carpark. Access to the room was via a combination door lock and privacy in the room afforded by blinds at the door ,room windows. Unfortunately there was no internal lock on the door and gaps in the blinds afforded a view into the room from outside. The room was cold on arrival and took hours to warm up. "My initial impression wasn’t great. The hotel part was really in need of a good lick of paint and a new carpet. That said, it is a very old building so some allowances should be made. The bed in the room was very comfortable with fresh white linen and fluffy pillows. The bathroom was tiny but modern and clean. The staff was nice and very welcoming of my little dog. The bar is stylishly decorated in keeping with its age but with a modern edge. As a solo traveller I didn’t fancy staying up late...

"I would like to ask for a full refund really but I know I won't get one. We were left in property on our own and told to lock up when we come and go. The sheets on the beds were dirty. Bathroom dirty. Tea and coffee in the room but no milk. We left at half 4 in the morning with little or no sleep at all. Terrible place "
