"I booked a superior room which was very comfortable and clean. We overlooked the river and had a double aspect room (317). Staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to see that we were happy."

"We had a fantastic stay at this quirky and beautiful hotel. Even though we had booked the petite double room it didn't disappoint. As hotel rooms go it wasn't small. Beautifully decorated with beautiful ornate furniture and very comfy bed. Tea , coffee and water replenished every day. The breakfast and food in the restaurant was excellent. Staff were excellent, lovely and friendly. We would definitely go back. "

"This review considers the amazingly low price we paid (£40), compared to other availability in the area. We requested (and booked) a family room, on arrival, we were given two double rooms opposite each other. Not a problem for our 1 night stay, but it could have been. "Stayed in the Hadrian Suite which is a beautifully designed space, very impressive. Very warm welcome and friendly service throughout. Comfortable bar area downstairs with great dining options. Definitely recommend if you're visiting this stunning part of England – they will help with guidance for walks and dark skies star spotting etc. "
