"Beautiful hotel, staff at reception great. Room was huge but very very hot! Small fan provided but noisy and way too small. Fan on a stand needed. Amenities were brilliant lovely pool area so relaxing. Had 2 x treatments at the spa, they were amazing. Highly recommend"

"The property was disappointing. I booked a 4 poster bed and it was a 4 poster just 4 planks of wood 1 at each corner with no drapes. Check in was unbelievable, we arrived at 2.30pm to be told we couldn't check in till 3! I stay in hotels all over Europe for 2 weeks out of 4 every month and have never been blocked for 30 minutes! The room had a macerator toilet and if you ran the sink/shower the macerator would kick in...really helpful at 3.00 in the morning. Climbing to our room on the 2nd...

"We were unaware when we booked that Chester Races were on that day (the Hotel is next to the Race course). We are very familiar with Chester having lived there for many years but we found it extremely difficult to manage the road closures and diversions around the hotel.
