"If you are looking for an experience, the Priory does not disappoint. The only room on the property for guests has ties to the Romans from the year 1070. The church itself is decommissioned, but continues to host concerts. Being from the United States, opportunities to be surrounded by such history do not exist. "Very simple and quick check in. The room was very clean. We had a kettle in the room but had to go to the dining room to collect other items too make hot drinks. Plenty of parking in a quiet area with a buffalo restaurant next door."

"The property itself is lovely. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. We ordered a meal at dinner and, while basic, it was very good. My only real concern is that the hotel advertised a pool, that was open. When we arrived in 29 degree heat we were looking forward to a swim only to find out the pool was closed, although it was full and the water was reasonably warm. We would at least liked to have sat around the pool but all the chairs, umbrellas etc were locked away. This was very disappointing. I would not have booked this hotel and paid its fairly high tariff if I had know the pool was not available."

"I have to begin this review by saying that I do not understand how it’s possible that this hotel has four stars. It’s simply not in the right class. The front desk staff were very welcoming and pleasant, the air conditioning in the room was exceptionally good (which was needed during this heatwave), but other than that, the rest of the experience was simply okay. The hotel is in need of renovation in general (very dated decor), but the worst of it is that the door to the room will not close properly. There was a gap between the door jamb and the door even when the door was closed and locked, resulting in in sound-proofing. It also seems like a security issue to me, and it’s shocking that hotel management allows this to remain in this condition. In addition, the room’s refrigerator smelled like Camembert when I first opened it, and I had to get cleaning staff to clean it out for me. One of the coffee cups had splattered coffee stains on the outside, so I’m not sure how thoroughly the cups are cleaned between guests either. The bottom sheet on the bed had black marks on it, and the mattress sagged and was simply not up to 4-star hotel standards. This hotel room did have access to a terrace/balcony (the only standard room with this feature), but it was not maintained. All in all, I had the impression of a hotel hanging on to a 4-star rating that simply doesn’t apply anymore."

"Staff were good. Breakfast was simple, but OK. Room was TINY...bed took up most of it. Desk was dirty...food waste and cup rings. As usual, simple French TV...mostly advertising. Some noise from adjacent major roadway. Room is in need of maintenance. All in all, roof and a bed...no amenities...but, inexpensive."
