Wonderful spa hotel perfect for a stop during the TMB. The jacuzzi was excellent! If doing the TMB, be sure to take variant 9C. Breakfast was amazing too!
It was the ideal spot for a fantastic ski vacation. Literally in the shadow of Grand Montets perhaps the best skiing in the world! Very close to village with some nice restaurants and a quick walk to train or bus we will be back for sure.
Wow! What an incredible place. We were hiking the TMB and couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. I only wish we could have stayed more than one night. Everyone was so friendly, the place was so clean and the beds were so comfortable! You won’t be disappointed!
This was a great gem in Chamonix area. Away from the hustle of the center of the town but easy access to town and to fabulous hiking in the area. The spa area with free access was amazing. The staff there especially Suzana with her friendliness and knowledge of the area was amazing. Carla & Ivoy were super helpful and great to deal with. Loved would stay there again. Incredible and a great price. They offer laundry room as well. Thanks to everyone there
Beautiful Property in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Staff goes above and beyond. Special shout out to Elodie and Susanna. Ski lift 2 minute walk away, ski equipment rental around the corner, small village of Argentiere within 5 minute walk. Would highly recommend.
Lovely hotel with really helpful staff. Buffet breakfasts had great variety and the spa was very relaxing. We loved the outdoor hot tub in the snow! Room was great - much bigger than we’d expected. We were on a short skiing break so the location was fantastic as it’s right next to a ski hire shop and the ski lifts. Easy walk into Argentiere for restaurants, bars etc. Also right by the bus stops to get up to Le Tour or down to Chamonix. We loved it! It snowed heavily whilst we were there so photos are before and after.
Four years ago, we stayed at the Hotel Les Grands Montets as part of our Tour du Mont Blanc ten-day trek. We had two nights there as we prepared for our last two legs of hiking on our trek. Unfortunately, poor weather did not permit us to take the preferred route to the Lac Blanc -- wind and precipitation made that leg too dangerous. We did an alternate route. We decided to complete the Lac Blanc section one day.
This year, we completed that leg of the trip under excellent weather conditions that ensured a safe climb through the latter and cable sections. Our decision to stay at the Hotel Les Grands Montets was based on easy access to these hikes and the comfort of one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in --- great breakfast, fabulous spa, and an excellent staff. Highly recommend.
One of the larger rooms I've had in a ski resort. Room felt newly decorated and smelled of pine, huge bathroom and a nice balcony (albeit with a view of the car park as well as the mountains). Excellent proximity to Lognan ski lift. Staff friendly and helpful. Comfortable bar area. Nice spa. Area outside the hotel is the car park for the ski lift. You can't see it from the hotel however. Not much walkable other than the ski lift and ski shopfor winte but an easy drive to Les Praz or Chamonix
Me and my wife shared an absolutely superb 3 nights at Le Grand Montets Hotel. The location itself is in a very peaceful Argentière. Wry warm welcome from the staff on arrival. The hotel is beautiful, typically Savoie with lots of cool decorations throughout. The spa is great for winding down at the end of a busy day. The rooms are also beautiful with great views all around to wake up to. The only really minor thing is that the hotel does not have an onsite restaurant but the staff are more than happy to recommend (and book) restaurants in the local area. They recommended Le Dahu for me and they didn’t let me down because it was stunning. Definitely recommended for a relaxing retreat within easy distance to the bright lights of Chamonix. We will DEFINITELY be back… soon I hope.
Very chill and cozy hotel. Staff are very sweet and helpful, but also not overly bearing. They stay in the background as much as possible. Not overly formal as you get in many hotels. Spa is very good, with good jacuzzi, nice little pool and good sauna and Hamman. Breakfast was also good, a mixture of everything; bacon and eggs, hard boiled if you want. Plenty of cereal, yoghurts, fruit, cold cuts and cheese, and plenty of pastries and different types of bread. The rooms were cozy, with nice balconies and beautiful views. The one criticism would be the designs of the rooms. With ours the front door and the bathroom door easily collided, and my partner accidentally trapped her fingers in between them which really hurt. The pillows were also not good; there was a large tempur type one, so very hard, or a little pillow which had almost no structure at all, so something in between would have been better, but the mattress was very comfy. My mother had a separate room, which was a different layout, and was actually better than our layout, same issue with the pillows though. In short, I would definitely stay here again, I just might bring my own pillow next time! Location wise it is very close to Grand Montets lift. Argentine is a 10 minute walk away. A car is recommended, but then it is generally recommended for chamonix as it makes getting around, particularly in the evenings much easier. There is no restaurant onsite, so you will need to eat out, but they have snacks at the bar.
Charming chalet, friendly welcoming staff,
modern bathrooms, wonderfully comfy beds, lively spa - just a minute walk to the lifts. Next time I return only staying here.
