August Stay

Amazing location and very accommodating staff! First night was a little too warm in the main hotel for our liking; however, the staff went above and beyond to provide us with an alternative room in a nearby location. The hotel has scenic views from every angle with also much to do nearby.

Unliveable hotel

The location is the only real positive aspect of this hotel: the ancient village where it’s situated is charming. Unfortunately, everything else was a huge disappointment. The air conditioning didn’t work properly — the room temperature never went below 29°C, making the stay unbearable. Bathroom amenities (shower gel, shampoo) and towels were changed only every two days, the cleaning service was practically non-existent, and we even found cockroaches in the room. No 24-hour reception, no restaurant, and no services worthy of a 4-star hotel. On top of that, there’s no parking or shuttle service. A terrible experience — personally I would never stay here again

Due to extenuating circumstances could not make it by the "no later than 6 pm" check in time. We got there at 8:30 and paid a $75 penalty. Absurd. And it's not like 8:30 is late! But the two restaurants nearby were closed or closing. Then, when showed our room it was literally nothing like the pictures of the room we supposedly booked. Not to mention the bathroom was on the top floor by itself, so that wouldn't be fun if you need it in the night. It was shocking how beautiful and decorated the room we thought we booked was versus the bare bones room we got. We got a cheaper room than we paid for just to have a bathroom in our room.The girl who stayed to check us in was so over the top condescending and rude. If she had been nice, even with all the horror, everything could have gone so much smoother. The boy at checkout the following morning was adorable. Too bad he hadn't been the one to greet us. Also, there is no A/C. When the girl showed me to our new room, I pointed to what appeared to be the a/c unit and asked if that was the A/C, and she said yes (I think she was deviously smirking inside, for that was her behavior throughout the horrible check in process). It of course wasn't a/c. Only heat. I messaged multiple times and no one got back. It was hot!!!! So....does the property look nice, yes!! Stunning. But is it worth it? Absolutely not. What a shame. And also, in this day and age, every decent hotel needs A/C. And if they don't have it, at least admit to it.
