"I really hoped to like this stay but it wasn’t an ideal stay. We got to our room, the cleaning of the room was terrible. Fridge dirty, coffee machine area dirty not fully cleaned, shower was filthy! The bathroom floors were dirty. The water pressure in the shower was terrible, the water was leaking from the shower to the bathroom floor, later on towards the night our room started to have a sewer smell, they sent someone to spray something in the room, it helped but we couldn’t sleep at night because of that smell, the next morning we had left and came back and our room started to smell again, the water in our room started to smell like poop, no joke. The longer the water ran the more it had that smell. The water it self felt very slimy. We had to cut our trip short due to the inconvenience of the room. Having to deal with this and having a child with you was miserable! "

"The best thing about this place was the location. You can’t beat it. We were able to walk to everything, including the beach, restaurants, shopping centers. However, this property is very outdated. The bathroom was seriously outdated, the electrical outlets need updating, and they never cleaned our room or gave us towels for the entire day. What’s with that? The ironic thing is you will actually see a picture of the person that’s supposed to clean your room with a QR code to add a tip if you like. My tip is, clean the damn room. We actually had to go ask for towels on the first day and then just gave up. Not sure what’s going on with the service these days but it’s getting worse and worse in America. If you travel abroad, you will see that America is probably at the bottom of your list when it comes to value for your money and everything else. While I love Carlsbad, I don’t think I will be back here. I’ll keep looking for better deals and places that take a little bit more pride and people that actually clean your rooms and give you towels. I didn’t think we actually had to go beg for those."

"My experience at this hotel was very disappointing. Despite arriving with small children, we were asked to wait nearly 20 minutes just to check in, which was quite inconvenient. The room did not match what was advertised on the website. It was supposed to include a microwave and mini fridge, but neither was available. Additionally, the room had an unpleasant odor and appeared poorly maintained. I noticed visible damage, including cigarette burn marks on the table, and the overall condition of the fixtures was concerning. The sink and toilet area showed signs of wear, with rusted metal parts and lack of proper upkeep. Hotel staff were rude and didn't care about complaints at all. When I booked through expedia, total for two rooms was $210.64. But I was charged $109.26 per room for which I have to $218.52. They overcharged me $8 and didn't give me the receipt saying that printer was not working. Overall, the cleanliness and maintenance standards fell well below expectations. I would not recommend staying at this hotel."

"The room was far from clean. There was pet hair on the sink counter and in the corners of the room. We saw our the first roach within an hour of getting to the room."
