First off, I had never paid so much for a bunk bed - $95. The city accommodations were almost full and for the price I wanted to pay, I had only found a couple other hostels with a lower price, ~$30 less that this one, in the central part of the city.
The reasons I went with this hostel were the more private bunk beds with the privacy blinders and the more sturdy and less squeaky wooden frames which were practical during the stay as people came in/out without all the metallic noises.
The other big reason that made me justify the $30 difference was the advertised "Free Massage". I thought it would be a good deal given that I was coming to run the Half Marathon and after a long trip it would benefit my legs. When I ask for it, I am told this offer is no longer valid, it had been about 2yrs now since they stopped this offer. So why keeping it on the list of the room amenities other than just for bait and false advertisement?
Other than that, the price point for this hostel out of this peak weekend seems to be in line with the property conditions, old and run down.
The property is in an old bank building, you can still see some tile and plaster works from that time, which is cute. But the building is run down, in decay process and with little maintenance. Very few bathrooms and restrooms for the amount of beds they have.
Kitchen is a small room in the basement, the ceiling was falling apart due to some water leakage from the level above. Small lobby, the only common area.
