We stayed at Le Grand Bassin Guesthouse for one night before picking up our Le Boat for a 10-day cruise east. I can say without hesitation that we had a perfect stay! We arrived on Castelnaudry by train, and then walked to the guesthouse, so of course we were behind schedule. Sophie waited patiently for us and, on our arrival, called Chez David in town to make sure we would get a table for dinner. Sophie is an exceptional host, and our room was clean and comfortable. We did not have breakfast at her place, so I can't speak to that. However, I can only imagine that it would be excellent, given the rest of our experience. My wife and I have travelled all over Europe, and Le Grand Bassin is a beautiful property at a great price. Please do not hesitate to give it a try the next time you visit Castelnaudry.

Accommodation not to my taste. Was led to believe it was a small hotel with restaurant but no evening food available even though we asked for it. Style of room was eclectic and functional only. I wanted to move on but partner had done a lot of driving and needed to stop.

Deze accommodatie is fantastisch gelegen aan het grand bassin. Het huis is met veel liefde, kleurrijk ingericht. De gastvrouw is erg vriendelijk. Het ontbijt royaal, opgediend in de prachtige tuin. Er is een prima plek om fietsen te stallen. Kortom: een ideale plek om te overnachten tijdens bv. een fietstocht langs het Canal du Midi.Castelnaudary is een onverwacht mooie stad; een aanrader!

Superbe vue sur le plan d'eau. Décoration agréable dans la chambre, spacieuse et bouilloire à dispo avec thé et café. Très bonne literie !! L'accueil a été assez froid. l'hôtesse plutôt accaparée par ses confitures. Je ne sais pas de qui cela relève mais mon mari et moi-même avons été surpris de ce que l'hôtesse nous demande un supplément de 15€ pour le lit de notre fils alors que cela avait été bien spécifié dans notre demande que c'était une chambre pour 3 personnes et que nulle part ce supplément n'a été indiqué. Ni sur les documents apposés dans la chambre, ni sur les documents que vous m'avez envoyé. Elle ne m'a pas donné de récépissé me disant qu'elle me l'enverrait! Castelnaudary était une des étapes de notre rando à vélo entre Agen et Carcassonne. Nous avons séjourné au Grand Bassin (chambres d'hôte) au bord du lac du même nom le long du canal du midi. Garage à vélo fermé, très bon accueil, maison propre,chambre spacieuse et agréable, wifi, TV.
