"The cottage was very quiet and remote yet the road is no problem at all. It has a stunning view and there’s a walk route where you can explore nearby villages and farm. The cottage owner was friendly and accommodating. She prepared freshly baked scones, milk, coffee, tea, sugar ready on our arrival. She checked on us as well twice to make sure we’re okay. "We really liked the lodge as it felt much more private than the hotel but with all the amenities available. Gym small but with all equipment working. Pool clean and a pretty good size. Food excellent. All staff friendly and helpful."

Pros: good size rooms and restaurant Easy on site parking Helpful staff Comfortable beds Cons: Don’t think hotel guests should have to pay to use the spa facilities £30pp for 2 hours to sit in a hot tub. Open bathrooms - leave's little to no privacy which doesn’t suit all. Just box off bathroom area."

"This was my first visit. It’s a community owned hotel, run by locals who raised a lot of money to take it over and open it up again. They have done a great job. My room was spotless and I told my wife I needed sunglasses on the bedding was so white. A large shower in the en-suite was very welcome after a long day. I had my evening meal there and it was very good,"

"The en suite was very nicely appointed and had a walk in shower. The room was not large but it was perfectly adequate for our few days there. We were a little surprised that there were no drawers or cupboards, just a fold out arm for clothes hangers (which we had fortunately brought with us!) and a bedside shelf. No aircon in the bedroom but fans were provided. There was a boot tray - ideal for walkers The general decor was in good condition as it had been refurbished only a couple of years ago. Parking was free in the car park across the road if you registered your vehicle with the hotel on arrival. Although the hotel is on the A5 road it was not noisy, but then our room was at the back. The manager kindly changed our room because the first one had a shower in bath arrangement and we had requested and had confirmed a walk in shower. The food was nice and all the staff were really pleasant and helpful. We would be happy to stay here again the future."
