I was allocated a room with good view of the hills and small private deck pool for two. Pity I could not use it during my stay.

Fantastic Boutique Hotel

The Sugar Hotel is very good in general, clean, very well located; breakfast is excellent quality and plenty; restaurant Mark's Table pretty good. All staff is helpful, providing guidance if needed, always smiling. Next time in Cape Town I will stay here. I recommend it 100%

Fab little boutique hotel. Very close to the V&A Waterfront area - we took Ubers most days for £2. Hotel staff were very friendly and helped us organise a tour to see the penguins at Boulders Beach. The room was very spacious, with a huge bed. We could have benefitted from more wardrobe space, but otherwise totally fantastic

Great value, central location, AMAZING STAFF!!!

We loved our stay at Sugar! The staff were incredibly helpful with everything from dinner reservations to day trips and more; my husband left his cell phone in the taxi on our way to the airport and we called the hotel and they had the driver return to the airport with it - now that's service! The hotel location was great - a short walk to the V&A waterfront and walkable to central downtown. Lots of bars and restaurants within blocks of the hotel. The room was contemporary, spacious and clean, and the breakfast was delicious. We look forward to returning to Cape Town and staying at Sugar!!!

NIt was just a normal three star stay nothing fancy and difinely not a five star for that vaule I will never gona stay in this hotel ever again. They don't pay attention to details. Very dissappointed and waste of money

Weekend Stay in Cape Town

We stayed a long weekend at the Sugar Hotel. The hotel is located right on the main road in Green Point so expect noise. Parking is up an incline before you enter the hotel garage entrance. The hotel is nice enough with a boutique feel, a lovely pool and breakfast area and breakfast was good (eggs benedicte, full English, scrambled eggs). The receptionist was very helpful in booking my meals in restaurants. What really marred an otherwise enjoyable stay was when we returned by car from Camps Bay on our last night only to find that we could not access the hotel because Main Road was closed for the Cape Town carnival. The hotel failed to inform us and when we queried, said they only found out that afternoon, which I find hard to believe. We suffered a very stressful hour finding alternative parking and navigating across the chaotic parade to get back to the hotel, with not clear directions being given. We had to pay R120 for overnight parking but the hotel would not even reimburse that. Very dreadful and poor and would not go back as a result.

This was a good property in a pretty safe area. There was confusion at check in with explaining the breakfast arrangements and as a result we did not take advantage of the INCLUDED breakfast. The 24 hr security was not always at the door and we were left standing outside late at night waiting to be let in longer than we were comfortable with.

I loved the deep tub. The private pool on private deck would have been over-the-top if it was a hot tub. But room was clean and the bedding was luxurious, notwithstanding, a Nespresso coffee maker in the room. But, better than in room coffee was the included breakfast of superior quality and selection. And I found just down the street a shopping center that met all my needs. I highly recommend.
