The walls are very thin between rooms so you can hear the people in the next room just walking around. The train tracks are also nearby but we didn't hear the train past 10:30pm. The rooms otherwise are pretty nice and cozy. I love the cabin style interior. The property is family friendly with a playground and picnic tables in the middle. The front desk staff are very friendly!
New owners clearly only care about money. Their facility is old, dirty, the cheapest toiletries, old ragged towels, walls and floors are patched up. Toilet paper and Kleenex are like sandpaper. Pool water is cold, floors dirty. Very poor lodging conditions, especially for Canmore, close to Banff. You would expect better.
It was a great place, the staff was very helpful even after hours. It was value for money. The rooms were comfy. The hot tub availibility would have made the experience the best.
But worth staying again.

Check in was so nice and accommodating because we had a dog. Smells of cleaner in room were overwhelming. Large holes in tub, not sure how you could possibly bathe.
This hotel, while a bit worn at the edges, served us perfectly for our visit to the Banff area. There was a kitchenette, plenty of parking, and it was clean and quiet. I would have liked a bit better quality of soap bar, as it was very small and barely lathered, but that is a small thing.
When we arrived at Rundle Mountain Lodge the initial look was similar to the photos on the website and we were met by a friendly receptionist. However the room we were staying in did not meet up to the standards you would expect when paying $227.79 CAD for 1 night. The intitial feelings that both my partner and I got were feelings of disgust, disheartment and disappointment. I was ready to pack up and just leave that same night, however my partner convinced me to stay as it was only for one night.
The room was rundown and in desperate need of update and repairs. The bathroom door didn't close properly and the bathtub showed signs of repaired crackes. The showerhead was so low we needed to bend backwards to wash our hair. Though the initial sight of the room, despite being rundown, was clean, we found hairs in both the beds when getting into them. The refrigerator was small with no means of properly freezing the ice packs we were using for our cooler. Unfortunately, there was no microwave so that we were not able to warm up the meal we had bought earlier. This was an oversight on our part but would have made our stay somewhat more accomodating.
Both my partner and I have experience with traveling and staying in basic hotel rooms and have been perfectly fine doing so. This room however, has shown us a new meaning of a basic hotel room.
It was a cute log cabin in a great location. It had an AC and a heater. It is decorated nicely with free parking. There is a hot tub for cold days. My only complaint is the mattress was springy and not comfortable.
The property looks cute, inside our room had the wood/ cabin like. However its dated the bathroom needs to be re done, the shower was too low, I am only 5'7" I had to duck low to rinse off. If you are taller, good luck. The bed was like sleeping on plywood and the pillows so thin and hard they were useless, there was some loud refrigerator unit that was constant noise. We will not stay there again.
Definitely not worth tge current rates happening in our mountain towns. It needs an investor and a designer - serious updating. Otherwise it's a lovely property. I reccomend and would stay again.
