Overall, the villa was comfortable and spacious, with three generously sized bedrooms and plenty of room for everyone. The housekeeping was excellent and carried out daily, which was a real positive and made our stay more comfortable.
Unfortunately, there were two significant downsides.
The villa is directly next door to a padel club, which meant constant noise from the courts — whacking, shouting and cheering from around 9am through until 10pm. If you’re looking for a peaceful and relaxing villa, this is definitely something to be aware of. For us, the noise really detracted from the experience.
The other major issue was the swimming pool, which was essentially unusable for our entire stay. On the first day, we noticed someone came in and added chemicals/chlorine to the pool, so we assumed it would be clear and ready to swim in the following day. Unfortunately, it was actually greener, with slimy green walls and clearly visible algae. We reported the issue and subsequently watched large amounts of chlorine being added to the pool. By that point, the thought of swimming in a pool that had been heavily treated with chemicals had completely lost its appeal.
It was disappointing, as having a pool was one of the reasons we chose the villa, particularly in Bali’s heat.
The villa itself has plenty going for it, and the housekeeping team were wonderful. However, the ongoing padel noise and, particularly, the unusable pool meant that our stay was not as relaxing as we had hoped.
