"Quite Excellent. from book in by Karen at reception who upgraded us - to the gym and pool staff (notably Caelan), to the restaurant staff, Joe, Cara and Eloise who provided an excellent service from the dining room - carvery and take away meals. "The staff were warm and inviting, especially the proprietor Simon. The room was tidy and clean. The best was the 14th Century building with a carriageway entrance for a front door and nary a straight line or level floor board to be found. This is a rare gem. And, strange for such an old building, the best shower in all of Cornwall (hot and high pressure). I got to sample the new Indian cuisine that could soon be available at the hotel. I hope so. It’s excellent!"

"Quiet, spaceous room which was very clean. The pub served delicious food and there is a fabulous little cafe next door. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back when visiting family again. Exceptional value for money with a good breakfast included. Only slight niggle is that the pillows were thin and not supportive. One is not enough and two is too much. Perhaps they could invest in firmer support pillows and the score for this hidden gem would be 10/10."

"The property was ideal for our needs and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, the booking experience through Expedia was abysmal. We were told the property was unavailable, which was untrue. We were offered an alternative of a 3-bed property which supposedly had 6 double beds. Photos on the Expedia website show this is also untrue."

"It was all very good, we asked for a chair for the room and got one straight away. Towels were changed every day and it was all very clean. All staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, plenty to eat, all served fresh. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Waterfront Inn, the only thing I will mention is that we thought we were staying in Bideford, not realising the Hotel was in Westward Ho but it wasn't a problem."

"The Seagate was on the estuary in lovely Appledore. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We stayed here before and after a trip to Lundy. The first night was in room7 which was spacious and you could just about see the sea. The second night in room 9 which had a completely frosted window and was small. The pub food was good. I particularly liked the ceasar salad . Would return."

"The Sailors Rest is in a good location within Appledore,close to the main car park. The room was clean, as was the communal access. The view from Room 3 was excellent. A shaver point and shelf in the bathroom would be really helpful, but other than that everything was fine."
