"Good family room. Excellent shower as this room has been updated. Perhaps it is time to update decor in the hotel rooms as it felt like we were stepping back into the 1980s. However, for the price it was a good. The size room with everything you could need. Quiet room but could do with a fan or a/c"

"We had a great stay. Although our initial room was clean and well-maintained, it lacked WiFi access. However, the front desk staff was incredibly helpful and promptly moved us to a larger room with a fantastic internet connection. We were very pleased with the service. Additionally, there was sufficient parking available at the back of the property, and the complimentary breakfast offered a good selection of continental options along with made-to-order hot food. "We checked ourselves in and left a couple of hours later (no staff seen). I hadn’t realised I’d booked a room with shared bathroom and the bathroom was on first floor and we were on the second - we only saw one shower and 2 toilets for all the shared rooms. There’s half carpet in the standalone toilet, which is gross. The rooms themselves are fine, a bit rough round the edges. I’m baffled at the positive reviews, it’s very basic and not good value - we chose to drive 2.5 hours home rather than...

Fish and chips - fish soggy not crispy, pooling with oil and the crushed Parmesan potatoes like something you would concrete bricks together with and the local trout was so overcooked it was hard to chew it. "The village was lovely with a petrol station and shop opposite that seemed to stock more items than Harrods. It was like an Aladdins Cave. And beautiful walks all around. Hotel was inexpensive but was as good as many I have stayed in at double the price I paid. Very professionally run, and I was impressed and will definitely stop there again."
