"The property was well located for an overnight stop on our way from Heathrow to family in Devon. Check in was smooth and staff welcoming. Room was ok. Bathroom floor prob needed a clean round edges as fluff and couple of dead flies were behind bathroom door. Shower was very hot. Hard to control temperature and at times was near scalding. "The building is centuries old, so keep that in mind. The stairs are not always level, but they manage to provide modern amenities. The restaurant is a favorite among locals for good reason. And the House is across the street from the cathedral. So convenient."

"This hotel is nice enough but needs investment and to examine its pricing structure. It looks and feels dated. Everything was 'okay'. Clean with good staff, but the food and rooms were average at best and extremely overpriced. The most annoying thing for me was that a pint of lemonade and lime was more expensive than any of the pints of beer. That is simply wrong. I had an Executive Room. This just means that your room is in the original house rather than the annex. Again, it was 'okay', but...

"The room wasn't as clean as expected. The electric outlets didn't work. Someone came rapidly to fix it. At the restaurant, the server didn't bring us water like the others neither come back to see how we were doing. It is a good quality price. Even with those inconvénients, we would go back for a short journey. One or two days."

"Great hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Lewis is a real credit to the team. Tidy, clean and well maintained. The only thing we saw that was dirty was the sticky lift doors everything else was immaculate. Beds were really comfy, great bedding, shower great. Nice size tv. I was really pleased the kettle was sparkling, its one of the things that bothers me in hotels, if the kettle is gross and full of limescale. Really enjoyable stay. Would recommend and go back if i needed to stay in...
