Reception guy was friendly and helpful. Suggested places to eat and areas to explore. Hotel is not modern or spacious, but has character and a nice change from the usual chain hotels."

"Our night at the Chateau had to be the single most memorable night of our trip. I loved it; my other half was a bit freaked by it all. The property is a long way from anywhere down a stone road. The wildlife is incredible (I’ve never heard an all-night frog chorus before and the deer roam freely through the meadows). It is basically a private house offering rooms and a basic breakfast- not a hotel… it’s very much like taking an Air BnB room. The owner is a character but speaks virtually no...
