"Strawberry Fields was a great base to explore Brighton as a solo traveller! The room was compact and I had my own shower (toilets were shared but very clean and lots of them scattered around the building) - it was basic, but exactly as advertised and exactly what I wanted and needed. It was a really nice location, not so close to the centre that things were loud at night (I slept very well here, and elsewhere in Brighton I've struggled!). The staff were friendly and helpful and I wouldn't...

"Excellent location."

"Good location & ok room but poor shower & everything (including window locks) could do with some attention."

"Great stay, near to everything, very quiet even with the window open- far enough away from St James St to not hear noise. Great Breakfast! Lovely hosts!"

"Very helpful staff, easy check in and good access to the town."

"Shabby Chic kinda. I don’t like to leave negative reviews but there’s a few things that need addressing. The bedding was clean and the towels were fine. Cleaning in the room- generally clean, but the skirting boards were very dirty and around the sockets- easy fix. The hot tap in the room was broken and swivels. 2 chairs in a small room with a large wardrobe is not the best use of space - a wall hanging rail and a narrow waist height consul unit for toiletries and the kettle would be more user...

"We were disturbed most of the night by the background humming of other guests' bathroom fans and gurgling of water coming into our basin. We would like to have had help with the lack of reception on the TV but unfortunately did not receive any reply to our request. Room okay with some nice furnishings."

"Great host, good value for money"
