The property is in the process of being updated but this didn't affect our stay except perhaps to see how well it appears to be going and I'm sure when this is finished they will have a hotel to be proud of. They have only owned this hotel for about 6 months and it is obvious they are making huge efforts to update...

I stayed 4 nights and Karen really looked after me; delicious cooked breakfast each morning and a newly lit fire in the evenings to sit beside. She gave me a tour of her gorgeous garden and introduced me to her feathered friends; the chickens, cockerel and pheasant as well as her lovely dogs. "We stayed at Old Posting Inn for 2 nights as wanted to explore the lake District area. We wanted a quiet, quaint village as our base, and the Inn was perfect for our needs. The dinner was excellent and the hosts were lovely. The location itself is15 mins from Cockermouth town centre, 30-40 mins from Kewsick, and 45 mins from Buttermere. All in all, it was a perfect holiday for us, and we will come again!"
