"It's an older hotel with some grand features, but the outside is a little run down, but don't be put off, because the location and views are amazing. The room was comfortable, big and clean. We were there on a warm day( 27°C) and our room was in the roof, on the 5th floor, these rooms could definitely benefit from air conditioning as the fans were just moving warm air around. There is a kettle, mini fridge and a coffee pod machine in the room and you can ask for extra tea/coffee, water and milk from the friendly front desk staff. The safe was very small, just big enough for a mobile phone and a purse.
The free breakfast was delicious, and the staff were excellent, you do have to pay extra for a specialist coffee, but I enjoyed the free tea and coffee. It could be improved with some fresh fruits, but good breakfast overall"
"Our room looked out to sea it was on the third floor with good views the furnishings were dated but the decor was clean the bathroom was dated and was in a rather poor condition the public areas were clean the bar area was large with an opulent feel of a bygone time but the disappointing thing for us was the our lift was broken and we were not informed of this at reception"
"The hotel is in need of significant refurbishment and appears to be quite run-down. There were several issues during my stay, including a blocked toilet, a bath that drained poorly and filled up due to a blockage no aerial TV connection and no Wi-Fi access in the room.
I would not expect these kinds of problems from a hotel in the UK. While the location is good the maintenance issues need to be addressed and resolved as a priority."
"The whole experience from checking in with the very friendly staff to enjoying the bar late at night, lovely sleep at night, great breakfast in the morning and then swim in the pool was a joy for the whole family. Would definitely stay again. "
"A gen of a stay! We had the "Crab Apple" room, at the rear of the building, on first floor over top of the kitchen (?). Very quiet apart from the rattling bath exhaust fans of the room. Apparently those can be switched off, but we never found the switch. No other sounds st all in the room. Comfy bed, good cooked breakfast, and great staff. We also enjoyed an excellent evening meal in the very good on-site restaurant. Easy walk to the nearby art gallery and to the beaches."
