We loved our stay at Palais Hortenberg. Everything was perfect, from the location across the street from the Archeological Museum where Otzi resides, to proximity to great restaurants, shopping, and the Funivia that takes you up into the spectacular hill country above the city. The hotel and staff were top notch. The bed was super comfortable and everything was high tech. This hotel is only 3 years old, and is equipped with the most modern of amenities. Would definitely recommend without reservation.

Perfect location for a night in Bolzano. Parking was easy, large and safe. Room was very new, large and clean, with good amenities. Check-in/out was simple and staff easy to deal with. The best parts of town were easily walkable from the hotel.

The property seemed nearly brand new, and was very clean. We were impressed with amenities offered, and the location was right down town walking distance to eating and shopping. The receptionist was very friendly and offered a great summary of surrounding dining/activities in the area.

Was a very comfortable stay for five nights. Very clean and centrally located. Check in was very easy. You do have to pay for towel service and there is no option to store luggage after check out. Additionally, the spa sounded great but had limited hours (10–5:30).

Perfect location & outstanding rooms & facilities. Room so spacious with a view, bathroom large & shower was great. Free laundry machine & dryer extremely handy as I was traveling 2 weeks. Otzi museum across the street! Everything in walking distance or grab a bus. Huge market on Saturday right across the bridge. Restaurants, shopping, farmers market & more all in walking distance. I highly recommend & would stay again!

Beautiful modern hotel in old town section of Bolzano. It’s so modern that it seems like it was built five minutes ago. You don’t get a room key or a plastic card; you are assigned a six digit code to open the front door and your room. It’s almost space-age how high tech everything is; especially if you’re more used to old school hotels in Europe. We were running late for check-in - a lot of traffic on the road from Milan - and the hotel staff actually phoned us to check up. I was expecting to be able to park in the hotel’s garage, but was told the garage was full, which was a little frustrating after driving all day. However, we were able to park on the street and pay the meter. And it was super convenient to be able to walk to everything in the classic old town, plus a morning visit to the museum across the street.

The apartment I booked was spacious and had all amenities necessary, a very comfortable bed and was very quiet. It was new and also very clean. The entry was easily accessible and the ladies at the reception area were always helpful. The location is convenient with the grocery store across the street and everything within walking distance. The spa was wonderful! I will definitely book there again.

Everything is good, except that the front desk closes at 5:30pm, is that too early? The location is perfect, but the entrance is difficult to find. Inside the room is the world of modern young people who can easily work out how to use the facilities.

Overall, the stay was okay, but there are a few things that could be improved: 1. There is no telephone in the room, so it’s difficult to contact reception if you need anything. 2. Towels are not replaced if you’re staying more than one night, which is inconvenient. 3. There was no iron provided in the studio. 4. The parking situation is confusing and not clearly marked. 5. The entrance to the property is also confusing if you’re visiting for the first time. It would be very helpful if you could send clear instructions and pictures to guests by email two days before arrival.

The hotel is new so everything is clean. Being new there are some things that were a little difficult for someone in my generation to understand. For instance everything is controlled from wall screens, lights, doors, window shades...ect ect. Be sure to check in before the front desk goes home at 5 p.m. If you are late like we are they will answer the phone and direct you appropriately but the language barrier is difficult to overcome. That said, I will stay there again. It is right in the mix of the city so everything is right out the door.

Nice in Bolzano

Hortenberg Homes is right at the edge of old town, in a great location, and it was super easy to check in without seeing anyone; everything worked by email. The apartment was nice, with a good kitchen and island, and a bedroom you could close off. It was a bit sparse though. No carpets, so you are walking on concrete floors. No silverware, which was annoying, because we expected it, given there were glasses. We couldn't turn the towel warmer off in the bathroom so it was always super hot in there. But generally, a nice place to stay that was a good value given the space and location.

Its unfortunate that may rate doesn't really reflect the hotel itself. The hotel was fine. My rate is to warn people that if they are driving, then it is very difficult to find and negotiate parking deck. I used the hotel address on gps and gps took me in circles for hours in bolzano. I finally made contact with the hotel and found the parking lot had a different address. BOLZANO is difficult to negotiate if you are not a local. Plenty of restricted drkving areas. The hotel was fine, but getting there was a challenge
