Visited during rainy season. Fabulous views, staff, bed, linen, pillows, AC, pool, outside over-the-water restaurant/bar, & beach area. Room w/broken sliding door. Recommend: replace room curtains, deep cleaning floor into corners, sweep bugs (lots of flies). Honors jubalido (resident senior discount).

The hotel has a great location but it is very much in need of an update. I was also told it is for sale which is why nothing is being done. The breakfast is horrible and the food was very inconsistent. The ladies at the front desk were very helpful and friendly.

We had a very large room. A couch and TV at the entrance and a big king size bed with a lovely balcony overlooking the ocean in a separate room. The bed was super comfy. The pool is large, clean and warm.

Our stay at Playa Tortuga was unfortunately very disappointing. From the moment we checked in, it was clear that the property is poorly maintained. The overall cleanliness of the place was lacking, especially in the rooms and bathrooms. The bathroom was in unacceptable condition—there was no shower head, visible stains on the walls and fixtures, and we even encountered roaches, which was extremely unpleasant and concerning. The room itself did not feel clean or well cared for, which made the stay uncomfortable. Basic maintenance and hygiene standards were clearly not met. For a hotel that markets itself as a relaxing place to stay, this was far from the experience we expected. The food was average at best. While it was edible, it did not stand out in terms of quality or variety. To make matters worse, on the day of checkout, we went for breakfast at 7:30 AM and were told that breakfast was not available, even though the hotel states that breakfast starts at 7:00 AM. It appeared that service only begins once more guests arrive, which is very inconvenient for travelers with early plans. Overall, this stay was a letdown due to poor cleanliness, lack of proper maintenance, and inconsistent service. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Playa Tortuga to anyone, and we would not consider staying here again.

I am sure at one point in time, this was an A rated resort. It is very obvious that the property has not been kept up since it opened. The curtain in my room was torn, sliding glass in bathroom did not work and was falling apart, every time I showered it flooded, the furniture was old, discolored, and falling apart, the grass was unkept, weeds were even growing in the sand. I could go on and on. However, I will say that the staff and the food was the best thing about this property.

We understand that as any resort they had safety policies but having 4 small kids and being unable to stay all together in the same room is ridiculous. I stayed in this resort many times for years and they couldnt fix anything to acomodate my kids leaving me to the search of a new place to stay with them. I hope they return to their old management or do something different because I could never ever return to this hotel and I would never ever recommend anybody to stay there. Im sure Im not the only one who has something to say about it.I would rather stay on the street if it was my only option. very very dissapointed

Es ist ein grauenhaftes Hotel. Auf gar keine Fall weiter zu empfehlen. Nichts was dort angeboten wird, hat Bestand. Weder der Pool der völlig verdreckt ist noch gibt es eine Spiel Ecke für Kinder. Einfach nur eine pure Enttäuschung dieses Hotel.

La piscina sucia e inutilizable. El comedor interior cerrado en obras. No habia nevera en la habitacion con el calor de la zona. Agua no apta para beber y ausencia de botellas en la habitacion ni maquinas proveedoras de bebidas. Menu poco variado y siempre el mismo. Desayuno muy limitado sin posibilidad de pedir otras cosas.

Las habitaciones están bien las albercas están bien funciona muy bien el Aire Acondicionado y tienes muy buen internet prácticamente en todo el hotel, lo que no me gustó fue que tienen un grave problema de presión de agua hay momentos en los que No sale agua en el baño siempre regresa pero por momentos te quedas sin agua, la playa que tiene no está tan buena ya que prácticamente no hay playa , el desayuno que te ofrece es igual a cualquier hotel de cadena y si estás 8 días como yo desayunas lo mismo siempre no hay mucha diferencia, el menú para comer o cenar está un poco limitado es mejor salir al pueblo a comer, y si quieres unos tragos solo tienen la mitad de lo que ofrece la carta.

This hotel is very big, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, overall it was clean and if you needed help with a problem it was taken care of. The food was okay and they will try to accommodate any wishes you might have, the downside was the food might not be as hot by the time you get it at your table. Would I come back yes but not at any holiday time as it might get to noisy and as this hotel is very big a lot of guests.
