"Never stay again over priced Low Quality And not free parking as last 10 years"

"Comfy room, generous towels. Arrived late Friday evening, no bother getting a table in the pub downstairs for food- they don't take table reservations, so I wasn't at a disadvantage. Good wide choice on the menu and attentive service. There was a nightwatchman for after hours- what a treasure! He showed me how to access once the pub was closed, helped me empty the bags from the car and carried them to our room all with a friendly, nothing was too much trouble approach. "Kaye was communicative and lovely. Her home is a calming respite for busy travelers. The outdoor space is spacious and beautiful, with friendly horses nearby. The bed was a bit soft for us, but the room was very clean. My Way Guesthouse is a very good value."

"We stayed for one night as a stopover on the way North and were very happy that we picked this Inn. The room was quite basic but perfectly adequate for our needs and in line with the price point. We had an evening meal in the bar area which was very good with generous portions and we were served by a lovely young lady who was very friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was nothing short of excellent with good quality ingredients, perfectly prepared."

"Lumley Castle is steeped in history. The layout of the communal rooms is a little random and not brilliantly signposted. Staff are all very helpful. Restaurant was good quality. Breakfast good. The rooms lack a few amenities like usb or even plugs by the bed. Soap and shampoo is all that is provided in the bathrooms, which is unusual for a more luxury branded hotel. All small things but would make a difference. but overall it was a very pleasant stay."

"Although it was just a one night stay for me I received a very warm welcome, shown to my room and all staff; reception, bar and restaurant were first class in their roles. Room was clean and tidy and bed very comfy. Good selection of food and cooked breakfast to order."

"Ben, Jackie and all the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Nice outdoor areas and good food. The hotel is conveniently located for a day at Redcar races. The parking was good as the car park is huge. The shower was somewhat disappointing as it was merely more than a trickle. Overall, a great weekend with family and friends, we booked 7 rooms."

"The food was excellent and the potions enormous. It was rather remote so you needed a car to visit Durham. The park and ride (Belmont) was excellent but you will need sat nav to find it.Uber was £19 to Durham. Most of the staff very friendly a couple not so but didn’t spoil our stay"

"Check in was quick and easy. Staff were helpful and polite, even moved me from a room in the inn to an annexe room so I could be away from noise from bar. Also had a very good breakfast which is extra but excellent value for money. Definitely recommend it hotel and breakfast."

"Staff don’t seem to be around at any time. Bed is quite poor. If anyone is staying in the room above you, it may sound like they are about to come through the floor. Bags of linen in the hallway all the time next to the room not just when they are cleaning. Door feels very flimsy and like anyone could walk in at anytime. Wouldn’t recommend for anyone looking for a nice weekend away but if you have a wedding near by it will do as a place to sleep."

"Rooms attached to a pub. The pubs very nice with really good food options. The staff were first rate and the room was surprisingly quiet. We stayed for three nights going to the races at Redcar and the sea side."
