My husband and I wanted a midweek getaway and were happy to find a reservation. We were welcomed by Johann at the front door and shown to our room. We loved it!!! The accommodations were wonderful with access to town and both mountains for skiing. We will definitely be back again.

Quaint B&B with Phenomenal Service

We had a great time. The room was great. The main living area was cozy and made you feel at home. Johann (spl?) was a great host. The hors d'Oeuvres and wine were delicious. Breakfast was fantastic as well.

We absolutely love staying at the Alpenhorn. the hospitality of Johann and the staff makes the stay magical. Everything about this place is outstanding and the food is amazing! This is one of our favorite local vacation spots.

Best B&B I've ever been to

We went for a couples weekend getaway. There are so many great things to say about Alpenhorn. The location is great, the decor is nice, the owners were super awesome and the food was beyond what I expected, absolutely amazing!!! We were already planning our next visit while we were still there. Great place overall. Beds were a little firm for my taste but I am sure others would like it.

Amazing bed and breakfast

Not only were the accommodations excellent, the breakfast was like eating at a five-star cuisine. All of the ingredients are fresh and made it from scratch. Don’t stay in a generic cabin when you go to big bear. Come to this bed-and-breakfast! You won’t be sorry!

Alpenhorn couldn't have been better!

It was a pleasure to stay at the Alpenhorn B&B. Our stay was rejuvenating and exceeded all expectations. The house is located on a quiet street near the lake between a cute town with lots of restaurants, and Bear/Snow Summit. All are within walking distance or a 5-10 minute drive. The property has a nice backyard with trees and lounging chairs, and a few yard games. The best surprise was our host, Johann! He was very welcoming, kind and incidentally also happens to be an extraordinary chef. The hors d'oeuvres he served were among the best we've had. His cooking is creative and delicious! Also Johann was flexible with our schedule allowing us to make some changes to our reservation to accommodate our daughter's schedule. Our experience at Alpenhorn couldn't have been better!

What an amazing place!

We were greeted with an amazing spread of ordeurves and wine as soon as we stepped in through the door. And were hosted to such a high standard throughout our entire stay. We were made to feel completely at home. And the owners went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. We plan to return soon and being more family members. This place is a must if you are visiting Big Bear Lake.

Gorgeous property with exceptional service!

A wonderful place in the ideal location. Better yet was the remarkable service by the owners and staff. Beautifully furnished in a comfortable settings meant for enjoyable times dining or relaxing in the spacious back patio & yard. I cannot say enough about Johann's cooking! Breakfast and the evening meal were so delicious that the other restaurants we dined at couldn't compare. I had an early morning event & Johann was up at 4 am preparing a delectable breakfast ready at 5. The hospitality and service were above and beyond. We walked to the ski resort, lake, & main avenue, everything was nearby. Highly recommend staying here & we are planning to come back soon.

The owners go above and beyond, perhaps some of the nicest people on the planet. Something about the place makes you not want to leave. The breakfasts are healthy and all natural, but more importantly taste better than a 5 star restaurant. Seriously, every other bed and breakfast in the world needs to take a lesson from this place.

Cozy Getaway

We couldn't have been happier with our stay. Looking to get away from L.A for a few days to unwind. We picked the best place possible to do this. My guess is this is one of the best places to stay in Big Bear. Luxurious B&B with amazing hosts. They think of every detail. Gourmet organic delicious breakfast, happy hour and optional dinner by owner/chefs that far beat the best of restaurants. A steal for what you get!
