The owners were excellent hosts very friendly and accommodating. The property is situated in an ideal location to visit the local attractions. The room was very spacious as is the en-suite bathroom. It is furnished with antiques in keeping with the period the house was built

This is a lovely home and the owners do a great job at creating warmth and comfort for their guests. We had such scrumptious breakfasts, with meat from local producers and eggs cooked to perfection. Our bed was comfy and all was quiet and peaceful.

We had a lovely short stay at the Gables. It was a brilliant base from which to explore Northumberland and the borders. We were looked after very well by our host.

Great host and location
Lovely 3 night stay. Room and breakfast was first class. Angus was a fabulous host and the house was beautiful and in a great location. You won't be disappointed with your stay at the Gables. We'll be back in the future. Thanks Angus.

Amazing place to stay. The highlight of the stay was Angus the owner. What a wonderful gentleman he is, chatty, helpful, makes you feel like you are part of his own family. Breakfast scrumptious, sourced from the local farm and butcher. Couldn't ask for better food. Overall top marks, will definitely come back here.

One of the nicest B&B we have ever stayed at. The house was previously a priory and has been beautifully refurbished. The room and bathroom were very large and meticulously clean and excellent amenities. The owner/host Angus is extremely helpful, accommodating and eager to make it a personal experience. Breakfast was perfectly cooked, ample and featured locally sourced food - delicious. Normally only milk is provided with the excellent coffee but when Angus learned that we usually have cream with it, he specially went out to get us cream for our next day breakfast. If you wan tit we suggest you let him know ahead of time and any other special needs and I believe he will accommodate you.

Best ever.
We had an amazing time. We were only there for one night as an overnight stop on our way up Scotland. But would stop longer next time we are passing through. We highly recommend it. Everything is just perfect. Best b&b we have ever stopped in.

Quiet location and with only 2 rooms let out not busy. Angus the host is amazing and cooks a mean breakfast.

The rooms at the Gables are spacious and beautifully decorated. From when you arrive, Angus makes this stay a delight. Tea and cake when you arrive and more breakfast than you can possibly want. We will certainly stay here again!

We had the most comfortable nights sleep in one of their lovely rooms, and breakfast was amazing , such a choice and freshly made to order for you. Angus and Claire were very nice people and made sure you had everything that you wanted, their house is amazing and we will definitely stay there again.

Elegant B&B
Approximately 10 miles out of Berwick-upon-Tweed, but well worth the journey. A very friendly welcome from Angus, with tea and cake, into his elegant home. Very large, comfortable bedroom with separate, private bathroom. Out in the countryside, so very quiet. Breakfast was excellent. The only downside was that the fact that he only accepts cash or cheque, which was not easily found on the booking website, so a trip back into Berwick was necessary. Do not trust your satnav to get you there - just keep driving on the road out of Berwick towards Duddo and it is on the left next to the Church.

Well looked after by Angus and Claire. Made arrangements for us to get a key on arrival whilst they were out. Great breakfast and a bag full of local knowledge from Angus. Just two rooms exquisitely put together by the pair of them.

This was a few miles out in the country but for two farm girls, it was the perfect distance and a beautiful area. The house was outstanding in its decor and very comfortable. Angus was very friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed visiting with him. He also recommended a couple of places to see before we left the area. Breakfast was delicious. I would definitely recommend The Gables to anyone.

Exsquisite B&B
Booked in on the go and very late in the afternoon whilst travelling around the UK for a month. What an absolutely delightful place, exquisitely decorated. It is very intimate with just two rooms available; you feel very special within the surroundings. Angus attended to our every need and was the perfect host. This is a must do stay!

A Grand Stay
Hamish is a very welcoming host, and had clearly made a conciderable investment in making the Gables a superior place to stay. With two guest rooms you are assured of his total committent to you enjoying your stay.

Bed and Breakfast in an old rectory.
Beautifully decorated with large rooms. Bathrooms large and very clean with plenty of hot water. breakfast was full English and plenty of it. Very well cooked and well presented. Greeted by a cordial host and tea and cakes on arrival.Situated in country side but close to Berwick and other attractions.

The best!
If you are looking for a quiet, very hospitable, beautifully furnished old home with a great breakfast at a very reasonable price, this is the place. Angus is a great host, and this was a most relaxing place to stay. Our favorite place on a two-week trip, and we will return if we ever get back this way.

Stay at the Gables
Our stay at the Gables was brilliant. The service and hospitality was amazing and the friendliness of the owners were also amazing. If I had to travel to Berwick -on-Tweed again I would not hesitate to book into the Gables again.
