"I've used the F&G over many years. It's a decent independent hotel which has recently refurbished at least some of its rooms. If you're fed up of chains, try the F&G."
"We have stayed in The Royal before it was quiet everyone was friendly , the food was nice . Our room was very clean . We very much enjoyed our stay . We will definitely be back again . "

access to top floor was not suitable for oap, too many stairs with no help from staff with luggage. Dining area/ bar closes very early and with erratic times. Room was very good, clean and well aired. Shower was a bit weak but hot. Food was acceptable"

"The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and did a great job accommodating our dietary requirements. The room was beautiful and the location was perfect for our trip to Cheddar Gorge. I would definitely recommend."
"Family suite room was very nice, plenty of space for a young family of four, liked the separate single bed room. Large bathroom with bath and shower.
Service from all staff was truly excellent. Easy check in, had dinner downstairs with massive plates of good food. Inclusive breakfast (full English) was great, very accommodating to provide for young children.
