"Staff was great.. very friendly and helpful. The amenities were wonderful...pool, restaurant, breakfast. The location is marvelous. You can walk to a marvelous beach a few minutes from the hotel. The rooms are very dated and need "modernization especially the bathrooms...not a good fit for the elderly. But it's an ideal location and very family friendly. "

"Beautiful little gem up in the mountains with a beautiful view. Near a wonderful stretch of beaches but a long rough gravel road so be prepared if you plan to venture out. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We were welcomed with a cocktail. WiFi was solid, breakfast was delicious. We only stayed one night but the pool looked beautiful and inviting. Very lovely spot and quiet and relaxing. Service was impeccable. "

"We really enjoyed our quiet stay at Marala. It was very clean, the room and bathroom were large and the entirety of the front of the resort offered amazing views. The restaurant and bar offered great selections! ALL the staff, front desk, waiters/waitresses, kitchen, housekeeping and bar tenders were kind and courteous. We would stay again!"

"The tranquil atmosphere of the resort was wonderful. Quiet. Relaxing. Loved the deck we had with the table and chairs to sit back and read, relax or watch the view. The pool was a good size for actual swimming and deep. The room was so-so. No frills there. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was good, just enough to hit the spot. It would have been nice to have snacks and drinks available to purchase in case we needed something. No TV but we don't watch it anyway. "

"Beautiful location right on our own beach. Fun body surfing waves. Very quiet and peaceful. Very basic rooms so bring a clothesline to hang anything up to dry- no closets or hangers. Restaurant offered delicious food. "

"This was a lovely hotel right on the beach. Easy access to the beach and pool. Quaint and clean with friendly staff. Breakfast was included and they had great options. We had several meals there ad all were tasty. The rooms were comfortable and you could see and hear the ocean. We will definately return. Don't miss this place."

"I'm sorry to say but be careful booking here. They did not honor our Expedia reservation and turned us away. We Just flew in and drove from San Jose then had to find another place. Everyone was booked and drove 30 min out of town to find another place. Then Expedia tried to contact them to obtain the refund and they are not communicating with Expedia and now Expedia is not refunding me. "
