"We stayed at the Lone Star Inn in Dickinson for a couple of days as a stop during our family vacation this summer, and I was honestly impressed. I was a bit hesitant at first since it’s not a big chain hotel, especially while traveling with kids—but as soon as we walked into our rooms, my concerns disappeared.

"Check in was quick, staff were kind. Our room was spacious, clean, cold and loved that the bathroom had a glass enclosure and no shower curtain. The pool was closed during our time but that was okay. Also, the pillows were so uncomfy, lumpy and firm. Wouldn’t deter me from staying there but would note to bring your own pillow maybe. "
