"We had a very warm welcome from the friendly staff and were shown to the room which was clean and bright. The food that evening was excellent, and as it was a warm evening we spent a pleasant time sitting outside with our drinks afterwards. "Lovely restaurant but very busy when we arrived, so staff were rushed off their feet. Room was great. Bathroom was lovely. No air conditioning so we kept the window open. Quiet outside apart from birds waking us up at sunrise. Food in the restaurant was excellent although we had to wait for a table. There was no discount on offer for residents."

"The booking clerk was quite brusque and was unable to give any information about activities in the area. This was unsurprising, as the same man was doing the bar, reception and taking and serving food orders on our first night - no sign of anyone else! The room had a good view of the lovely looking garden with picnic tables and view of River Dee. Unfortunately, it remained padlocked throughout our stay. The room was a good size with twin beds, but laid out so that you had to crane your neck...

"Liked the garden, but it needs a little C&A... Disabled car parking near to our room (No.5) was an excellent bonus. Breakfast was excellent but a bit expensive. Staff were all very courtious and helpful. Direct booking rather than via an agency is preferred. We will certainly be recomending the Lion to our friends and relations and using you again next time we are in the area. "Stayed for one night, with my son, for a Mazda MX5 car meet up in the car park- the reason for our stay. The hotel is very nice. We had a meal in the Savvy Fox - i like the decor. The meal was very nice - but not cheap. The twin room was very basic, but was clean and adequate for a one night stay. The beds were very comfortable and we had a good night's sleep.
