They loved our dog too - Toby who was rewarded with a welcome box and treats during our stay - even giving a sausage at breakfast. We can’t thank the staff enough, when we realised that my husband had left his wallet in the bedroom. The reception team contacted us and went above and beyond to send his wallet back!m. Both the housekeeper’s and receptionist are exceptional! The room was lovely with great pillows and mattress - something that’s very important to me and you don’t always get it from a hotel stay. The hotel is in a great location, next to the river and with lovely outdoor seating and a car park too! It’s great that you have a car park This was our first time visiting Blandford Forum as we our considering our next move and Blandford Forum is at the top of our list. "

"Not enough towels in room had to get them from reception. When room was made up 2nd day of staying some towels were taken away but none in their place. Remote control did not work only even after new batteries were fitted. "

"Booked and paid last year for room with king bed. Didnt get that. No explanation why from staff. Room was in old part with no ventilation and double bed that needed to be replaced years ago. Pillows were terrible. Floors created and shower water got stuck on scalding and needed to be fixed. All over very disappointing stay. "

"First time staying in The Merchant and although the single bed room was a bit of a hike from reception it was clean and comfortable Staff were very welcoming especially at breakfast which was an excellent buffet"
