Tombeck was nice, roomy, comfortable. Had a large kitchen fully stocked with cookware, oven, stove, kettle, microwave. We liked the large wooden dining table. A great place from which to explore Tomintoul and the Cairngorms. Also has a washing machine and dryer, but no instructions so took some time to figure them out (and the washing machine makes a loud noise and really shakes while running).
This house did not feel stable or safe. It is very very old, and many things weren't working: fireplace, washer, hot water in sinks and upper shower, coffee machine, shower doors broken, etc. The floors upstairs and stairs creaked so much they felt like they were about to fall through. Massive spiders in the house as well which we havent seen at all.
There was lots of black mold behind kitchen sink, coffee machine was very dirty, junk in driveway. No shampoo or conditioner in showers and no soap for washer. The outside of the house had so much charm, but inside it felt like a house that should be condemned with nice furniture and a coat of paint.
