When we got to the room, it was un-vacuumed and there were grease smears on all surfaces and the headboard. Each of the cups in coffee corner were dirty with lip marks/greasy fingerprints."

"We booked a night here as part of our 25th anniversary trip, staying in the Oak room, and it was one of the greatest highlights of our entire trip. The warm welcome upon arrival and beautifully maintained room in the original section of the castle all set the stage for a memorable stay (my wife especially liked the copper tub). The room was damp, full of dusty furniture and the bed mattress springs were gone. There was a tiny window with a view to nothing. We lasted 10 mins and left. "Managed to book the last room available a twin with plenty of room and comfortable beds. Said own bathroom but was across the public hallway. At check in was not advised to turn power to bathroom was a switch outside in public hallway. Not great when already stripped off. Eventually worked it out. Breakfast was great with outlook over country side."
