Mosaikon Hostel is fantastic, very modern, clean, and an inviting place. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The rooftop has a great view of the Acropolis and is a nice place to meet solo travellers. I want to give a special shoutout to Christina, the receptionist, she went above and beyond to make my Athens trip and hostel stay absolutely phenomenal. She deserves all the praise and Mosaikon Hostel would not be the same without her. I highly recommend having a chat with her to receive food and travel recommendations during your stay.

I am 74, I booked this hostel because it had an elevator. My bottom bunk in an all female en-suite dorm was immaculate, modern, spacious, equipped with reading light, storage shelf, hook, two privacy shades, and a key card locking storage locker. The staff was gracious, welcoming and gave me several excellent suggestions where to eat. It was easy to make connections with fellow guests. It is located 7 minute walk from Palaka sq and Athens easy to use public transportation system. You can use your credit card at point of entry. The add-on if you want breakfast is excellent and expensive. You will be glad you booked here.

Lovely, well-run hostel and small hotel. I was in a private room -- comfortable bed, huge and nice bathroom, air-conditioning. Staff was very accommodating. Nice breakfast. Fun, safe area. Inside, perfectly quiet -- a little noise from the surrounding restaurants, but they supply ear plugs!

Hostel was in a great location - lots of great restaurants and bars around and minutes away from the centre. The roof terrace was great! Only downside was that the bedroom doors were quite thin and we were woken up early in the morning by cleaning/people moving around to get to the terrace.

Stayed 1 night in Nov 2025 at a modern, hotel-style hostel near Monastiraki. Cleanliness was exceptional, with daily service and linens, covers, and bedding that were very clean, crisp, and felt like hotel-level quality. Check-in and check-out were efficient, using an electronic key for both the bed and a secure, spacious locker.The privacy and facilities stand out: on the same floor, five private rooms serve the eight-bed dorm—three within the dorm (one with shower+toilet, one toilet-only, one with shower and large washing basin), plus two additional toilet rooms right outside the dorm by the elevator (about 5 meters from the door). This layout provides privacy and convenience rarely found in hostels, closely matching hotel standards. Showers offered hot water and strong pressure, and all spaces were spotless. Each sleeping pod has a curtain, lamp, outlet, and shelf. The rooftop terrace is open for guests, with city and Acropolis views. The breakfast area looks like a professional cafe, and the location is central. Overall, although I stayed in a dormitory bed, the quality of the service, cleanliness, amenities, and privacy left me with the impression of staying in a hotel rather than a hostel.

Mosaikon is a fine modern hotel, centrally located. Only a few blocks from the Monastiraiki Metro Station, which goes to and from the airport. It is impeccably maintained, and the staff is very helpful, competent, and congenial. I stayed nine days, and was able to see Athens (the sites, the restaurants, the rebetiko) as well as take day trips with no trouble at all. Athens is a busy place, so you’ll do well to avail yourself of their breakfasts, which is offered buffet style with your type of coffee: American, cappuccino, or Greek.

This was my first time staying at a hostel, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The hostel was clean as a whistle, and the facilities were nicer than most hotels I've stayed at. The bunk beds were large and had privacy shades. I opted for a mixed gender room and did not feel unsafe at all. The men were friendly, respectful, and I enjoyed talking to them! The hostel is located just south of the Acropolis and in the tourist centre. There are many good restaurants within a minutes' walk, and the hostel's rooftop bar has great views.

This place is very nice , safe and super clean. Staff members are helpful, kind and accommodating. I stayed here on and off during my 3 months travels in Greece . They kept my big luggage in a locker room more than 45 days and with affordable price. Each time I came back I was greeted with amazing front desk employees. I’ll be back for sure for my next trip. One of the best hostels I stayed during my Greek and French vacation. Thank you Mosaikon

I am a solo traveler. The best part of the hostel is the resourcefulness of the staffs, they gave me so many great recommendations for itineraries and restaurants. The hostel also have a WhatsApp group and party so it is easy to make friends as well. The hostel is very cleans Each bed has a blind for privacy. The area is relatively safe to walk around. Overall I had a very good experience with this hostel.

Very central for city centre, felt safe. Roof top bar with wine at €5 a glass! Downside was that thiswas a shared dorm, i was allocated a top bunk although there were bottom bunks available, but would have been charged to switch. As there are lots of bars very close there is street noise until early hours.

Amazing stay! A rooftop with the acropole view was the highlight of the stay. Great breakfast option and nice staff. Only 2 negative points: It is located in the heart of the nightlife, if you are looking for a quiet place either use the earplugs given by the hostel or look for booking somewhere else. In the mix dorm there is no lock for the shower, I felt that I didn't have enough privacy to take my shower. I would have prefer to have a woman only shower room for mix dorm.

Friendly staff, convenient location

Staff: very friendly and helpful all the way, especially the day/night receptionists and a morning barman were very helpful and smiling. Location: walkable distance from metro stations, the area is surrounded with night bars and restaurants which was helpful as I felt safe walking at night back to hostel. Location is very central. Facilities : regular socket plus USB socket next to the bed which is very convenient. Also loved the curtains made me feel in privacy. There are lockers for each guest inside a room that you can open with your card. Free earplugs next to the bed, the towels are extra charge. There is also elevator for those who have luggage. Overall, was a very good experience, the bed and sheets were clean and comfortable. A small tip : would be great if you could substitute duvets either cover them fully with a sheet or exchange them for something convenient that could be regularly and more thoroughly cleaned :)

I wish my Experience was better

This hostel has alot going for itself. The place is quite nice, in the middle of Everything, the staff is very helpful, courteous and kind. Except, for housekeeping. I believe they truly need retraining. I feel MANY people are not saying this about housekeeping for some reason. I do not understand why they come in at 9:30am, leave the door open and start cleaning. It is very awkward when we are still sleeping, exposed with little clothes. They open the door balcony and curtains, even when you close them for privacy. I actually closed the door AND curtains twice and guess what..the housekeeper literally opened them all up again..I was AMAZED. I stayed in a female only dorm and we all wanted it closed.Why did they deliberately open it again? It makes it hard for women to get up safely, if the large balcony is wide open for everyone to watch you with little clothes on. This was interesting to me. I tried to stay 3 days, yet on the 3rd day, I woke up to the door wide open to our room around 9 again, housekeeping opened the curtains and door AGAIN, I closed it again with a towel on and went to the restroom. I Actually got locked inside the bathroom, the key stopped working somehow. I tried to get out and they turned the light off on me, which made me panic. The light is on the outside of the bathroom. I screamed turn the light back on! Did not listen to me. Both housekeepers said to calm down..with the light off? this felt inhumane to me. Their looks said we dont care. I left 💯

Dorm room and bathrooms were clean, nice location, helpful staff, bit noisy at night but normal for this area, there was someone in the room that insisted to leave the window open although there is a/c, which made it noisier and open to hungry mosquitos. Great roof top bar, lockers in rooms, hot showers, linens included, towels for rent, €6 to store one piece of luggage before/after check-out, very small community refrigerator, coffee included, optional breakfast, airport shuttle for a few.
