"Great restaurant, nice area"

"Unfortunately we only spent one night here. Beautiful property we wish we could have enjoyed more. The included morning breakfast was excellent. A wonderful breakfast plate is freshly made as you enter their dining area. You don't order anything, they just bring you an tasty Costa Rican breakfast - really one of my highlights of our trip. And having Roberto, the donkey, hang out nearby was fun. Although he kind of woke us up early with his donkey "call" - all good tho. How many times do...

"We loved our stay here. The grounds of the property are beautiful and interesting with lots of birds and butterflies (note there is some small construction going on at the moment but this didn’t affect us). It was a relaxing and peaceful place for a few days with excellent hiking nearby to the waterfalls and river swimming pools. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the enclosed seating area at the front of each cabin, with fresh coffee provided, was a great place just to sit for a while....

"Beautiful oasis in the city. The perfect place to spend a night before our early morning flight. The owner was so friendly and kind. She helped us get a taxi to the airport and even noticed we had a surfboard with us and arranged for us to get a bigger vehicle to make sure it fit. We highly recommend this place!"

"We stayed at Cerro Lodge on a birding trip. The personnel did not know about any matter related to birds or birding. They had no knowledge about local trails and didn’t have any idea that they should. Service in the restaurant was extremely slow and somewhat limited. The location was wonderful and scarlet macaws were abundant. There was a beautiful view from the restaurant and the pool was lovely. With knowledgeable staff it might have been a wonderful experience."

"El Hotel no queda cerca de nada que puedas ir "walking distance", no hay nadie luego de las 10pm en recepción, el personal es muy amable y la comida del restaurante es rica. Lamentablemente la piscina no estaba limpia para mi estadia y encontre tres cucarachas en la habitacion."

"Room was large, clean and comfortable. Very conveniently located close to the airport with continuous shuttle service. First stay, we could take advantage of the breakfast buffet with excellent variety and plentiful. Second stay had early check-out before breakfast so the receptionist arranged for a generous snack bag of food to go. Denny's restaurant is right next door for any other meals. Although we didn't have time to use it, there was a gym and outdoor pool."

"No hot water in the shower. Charged us an extra 15USD for the 2nd person in the room. Food was so-so and pricey. They offered fruit for the morning as we were leaving before breakfast was served. They gave us one small container - enough for one person. We’ve been staying here regularly when we arrive and prior to leaving Costa Rica over the years as have friends and family based on our recommendation. Sadly, we will likely change hotels based on our last experience. Very disappointing. I...
