"The hotel was clean, the room well equipped and the staff were all very friendly and efficient. The only criticism we had was the food in the restaurant, whilst very nice, was not the fine dining experience we were hoping for. The menu, which includes burgers and fish & chips, didn’t reflect the surroundings of the dining room."

"Although the room was relatively clean, I did not feel safe not having a locking out door especially after recent incidents at Travelodge The hot water was lukewarm and hardly running out of the main sink tap Mattress was lumpy not that comfortable mould in shower on ceiling. Staff are very friendly unfortunately this is a very tired accommodation walls incredibly thin. For a pub with rooms, it’s on the expensive side"

"The property really needs some maintenance to it. Very dated all round. Champneys used to hold a high standard name as a spa hotel but over the years it’s really lost its touch. Was disappointed with the cleanliness of the spa facilities. Was in the spa for 2ish hours and not a single member of staff cleaning anything. Mainly the floors which were full of grit/hair/dirt. Edging of pool areas have algae. Really just needs a deep clean. We didn’t stay for dinner however we had breakfast...

"A lovely hotel, slap bang in the middle of town, close to all pubs and restaurants and the Centenary theatre (20 minute walk) could do with a little touch up and repairs here and there. But excellent value for where it’s positioned and the staff are exceedingly welcoming and friendly. Lovely stay would book again definitely! "

"Clean room but tired bathroom. I was originally pleased to have a bath but there was no plug. Comfortable bed but this is the second time I have stayed and had to make the bed. The bottom sheet had not been fitted to the bed just put on top of the mattress then covered with the duvet. Sloppy housekeeping."

"Our second stay at this property. Chose it for its location as we were taking our granddaughters into London by train. Train station a ross the road with frequent direct trains to London. Free parking at the hotel a bonus. A nice pub nearby and a nice walk along the canal. Rooms clean and sufficient. Staff friendly. "

"The location was perfect, the staff accomodating and personable and very helpful. The room was clean, (though the hoover had missed some areas under the table and chair.. only noticable to us because our small kids tend to crawl under everything) the breakfast buffet had both cold and hot options. We appreciated the variety of pastries, yogurt, cereal and fruits innaddition to the full English available. Tasty too. "

"Lovely clean and spacious rooms. Entrance and seating area is modern and fresh. Staff were so welcoming and attentive in all areas. The pool was disappointing though-the jacuzzi wasn’t working and the changing rooms need renovating. Pool was warm and not crowded. Overall, a wonder stay with delicious breakfast. "

"The breakfast wasnt great but the staff were friendly. The air conditioning was working but i felt the room was a bit cold for my liking but the staff did turn on the heating but if just wasn't hot enough for me. However both the room & its surroundings were beautiful! "

"Great room with cooking faculities, staff were super helpfull and welcoming. The hotel is in a great location which is a short and pleasant walk into Cambridge centre. You get what you pay for at this hotel which is an all round luxurious hotel experience."
