"The property is located in the beautiful valley on top of the mountain. The drive up to the check in was a small , narrow , cobblestone driveway. Once arrived we quickly checked in and were escorted to show us where to park the car and where the breakfast location was. Luckily we were located on the 5 th floor terrace so we only had to take the suitcases down to terrace 5 from terrace 7 where we parked. "The Quinta da Moita is out of the way of the Douro Valley but well worth the detour. I stayed there 3 nights on a solo trip. The owners are fantastic, very sweet. The place is perfect for quiet respite, clean rooms, comfortable beds, great breakfast! I recommend to anyone for solo stay or couple gateaway! Their wines are great too! Just make sure to have food for dinner if you want to relax for the evening as everything is pretty far. But the drive is gorgeous and fun! "

"I was never able to get to the hotel due to road closures caused by flooding in the area. The hotel never communicated to me via any means before hand. I made multiple attempts trying to get to the hotel through different roads and all ended up being closed at a some point. The sun went down and it was very dark.
