The magnificent Basilica of San Francesco houses Piero della Francesca's legendary frescoes. Ancient Roman ruins peek through modern buildings while the Gothic cathedral crowns the hilltop. Wander the sloping Piazza Grande with its impressive Renaissance palazzos. Traditional Tuscan trattorias serve local specialities alongside upscale restaurants throughout the area. The monthly antique fair transforms the main square into a treasure hunter's paradise. This pedestrian-friendly district is best explored on foot despite its steep cobblestone streets.

Piazza Grande and Church of Santa Maria della Pieve offer must-see cultural experiences for visitors. The Fortezza Medicea and Palazzo delle Logge Vasariane showcase the area's architectural beauty. Most streets remain pedestrian-only, allowing you to explore charming alleyways and artisan workshops at your own pace.

Antiche Mura

Antiche Mura

10/10 Excellent
"First of all, I fell in love with Arezzo as soon as I started walking into the old town from the train station. Arezzo is a magical village and gives you the real Tuscan experience. It is not very touristy, not too crowded, and the architecture and neighborhood is so beautiful and charming. The food is out of this world and cheap! As for Antiche Mura, what an exquisite, cozy, chic, and yet old experience. The host gave me instructions how to enter the hotel and where my room key was placed. Entering the room, I was delighted at the juxtaposition of antiquity and modernity. The room was clean and very cozy and every time I had to go back to my room, I just felt like I was home. It was quiet and peaceful and I slept like I was in a crypt. I woke up hearing the beautiful church bells chiming. I urge everyone not only to visit Arezzo if you want an authentic Italian experience, but to stay at Antiche Mura."

"The most prominent feature of this hotel is the terrace, what a fabulous view! The staff were very helpful and friendly, showing the Gym which is slightly hidden away behind the bar and the large relaxing public lounge. There is a wide offer for breakfast in a large room which I think is underused. It would for instance be a great place for a reception or other formal gathering."
