"Clarissa checked us in and was absolutely fantastic! English was very good. The property is in the middle of a lot of street activity and was noisy but everything a tourist could want was within easy walking distance. The property needs updating. The air conditioning was shut down at about 10pm, turning the small room into a sauna. I called the front desk from my US cell phone because there was no answer from the room phone. The night clerk was argumentative and said it was something I did when...

"A very modern hotel with an interesting and different decor. My only negative comment is that the restaurant was not open on two nights due to being booked out, and no other food available or snacks. If staying in a hotel I would like to be able to get food, especially with kids."

"The location of this hotel is a very strong point - it is in the middle of central Lisbon, near many attractions and restaurants. Unfortunately, many of the restaurants are tourist traps as are the TikTak tourist rides manned by untrained "guides." The staff goes out of their way to satisfy your needs including providing breakfast on the main floor as a means to help us seniors."

"Basic hotel. Rooms clean but small. Bathroom in need of a little maintenance. No bar and outside courtyard space very disappointing. Didn’t take breakfast at €15 each - instead used the excellent ‘Breakfast’ lovers, a few minutes walk away. Staff on front desk friendly and helpful when asked. Hotel in very good central location, but on a steep hill. Very quite within the hotel, except the rumble of the 28e tram."

"First time to Lisbon. Browns Hotel is very well situated, definitely a plus. A modest entrance leads to very good staff. Friendly, knowledgeable. The rooms are luxurious, veryclean and very well maintained. All amenities were at hand. The Nespresso coffee machine and unlimited bottled water a welcome touch. Definitely recommend. PS-take 28 Tram both East and West for a tourist tram ride. Also the day trip to Cintra. Hotel arranged this. Definitely a must. small group of 6 and 8 hours in total."
