"Resort is very outdated lots of improvements can be done to the property. Not a lot of food option. Food was not good. Lipstick stain on glass in the restaurant. No housekeeping, staff did not even come to empty the bin. Most of the staff were rude or appear to be frustrated. No bottled water. No access to food or refreshments certain times of the day. No AC or TV remote in room. "
"I’d give this place 1 out of 5 stars, and the only reason it’s not a zero is because the hotel itself was actually decent. The rooms were clean and the property was reasonably well kept. Unfortunately, any positive impression the hotel might have made was completely overshadowed by the restaurant experience.
The food was horrible—bland, poorly prepared, and honestly some of the worst meals I’ve had while traveling. But the real issue was the staff at the restaurant. They were rude, dismissive, and came across as openly xenophobic. It was uncomfortable and completely unacceptable behavior from people working in the hospitality industry.
It’s a shame because the hotel itself had potential, but when the main dining option on-site treats guests this way and serves food that bad, it ruins the entire stay. I would not return and would strongly caution others before booking here."
Royalton Antigua, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort
8/10 Good
"The food was pretty good. However, the night life was not the best. After the trivia portion each night- there weren’t much happening after that. Other than that, it was a really nice hotel. "
Hodges Bay Resort & Spa, an HQ Luxury Resort & Residences
10/10 Excellent
"Great resort for our older family. Very quiet, but with everything you need. Pool areas were great, but having access to Prickly Pear island really made this place standout. We did some off resort adventures, but our best days were on Prickly Pear and hanging by the pool. We had a 4 bedroom unit and it was perfect. Would stay here again if coming to Antigua. "
"Positives:
*If you are looking for calm, tranquality and quietness, it is ESACPE for you.
* Nice weather with lots of sunshine and a good semi private beach.
* Most of the staff (Enrique, Aghata, Ivana, Naisha, Charles,...) were polite, friendly and helpful. Most important their smiles.
*Beach bar staff (especially Enrique) were helpful and polite.
NEED TO IMPROVE:
* There were limited choice from Lunch and Dinner menues. Salads need to be provided with much more quantity and in the form of buffet.
* Deserts needs to improve.
* Beach bar provides paninni for lunch and need to improve with fruits and salad.
* Night entertainments for guests since it is an isolated place. Group activities such as Karoeki, Quizez could be very helpful."
