This is a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting with some very attentive members of staff who try their best to provide a great experience for their guests. The massage and spa facilities are excellent. The inclusive breakfast is excellent in both quality and the range of food offered Unfortunately I got a feeling of what the Americans call being 'Nickel and Dimed' For instance, after travelling for 24 hours to reach this hotel and arriving at midday the reception staff informed me that I would have to pay an early check in charge if I wanted to go to a room as I had arrived before the 15.00 hrs check in time! I would also not be allowed to use the swimming pool/spa facilities before the appointed 15.00 hrs check in time. On check out day a special tag is now given to those leaving the hotel as you will be asked to leave the swimming pool/spa facilities after midday! Come on Swissotel are you a five star luxury hotel or are you a spa resort? Your customers need to know!

I recently stayed at Swissotel Almaty , traveling from California, I was planning to enjoy my trip relaxing and stress relief - getting away from city life . But once I arrived to Swissotel I was so shocked from amount of people there, while staying in line to check in I heard people complaining about their rooms. Then it was my turn - the room I booked was with Mountain View, they told me that the room actually doesn’t have a view, so they gave me standard room without refunding the difference on price . When I checked in , it was very tiny room I couldn’t cancel or get refund again , I thought at least I want to use the pool , but there was bunch of kids running so many people that they didn’t even had a space to sit or lay down so I came back to the room then they called me (receptionist) saying they will do compensation but I didn’t heard anything from them . Very disappointing experience

overall, probably the best hotel in Almaty. I’ve been staying there for three years now, the condition of the hotel has deteriorated. The things they do for certain guests is bothered to others. They have a beautiful fountain in front, it’s grand only when certain guests are present. Every year the quality is going down. But would still return. The swimming pool staff try to rush you out by the end of the day, Take away your robe, slippers etc while you are still there during working hours, very rude and unprofessional

Although new hotel it's not conveniently located. The spa is not really relaxing as water in pool and jacuzzi is warm close to cold in winter. But what was worse is the terrible customer service and attitude most of the personal has. They dont smile, everything you ask for is a problem and they cant even try to solve. Few people were helpful like the bell boys. Also they speak poor english but hardly understand it, other hotels in the city even speak in spanish to me... not here. Also i was wearing a speedo to swim and they said it was offensive while there were more people wearing similar speedos. Food wasnt great euther and theres nowhere else close to eat. Not a very fulfilling experience overall.

Der Empfang war spitze, sofort war jemand für uns da. Alles lief Reibungslos. Im Restaurant möchten wir besonders das Engagement von Zhanna hervorheben, sie versteht es Menschen schon am morgen zu begeistern, außerdem spricht sie sehr gut Englisch und Tschechisch, was vor allem meine Frau verblüffte. Auch der Conciergeservice war sehr gut und Sabina eine sehr gute Hilfe.
