All two-star hotels in Khao Lak are either on or east of Petchakasem Road and are only a 10-15 minute walk from the beach. Nearly all of these are located in the Bang La On neighbourhood apart from Tony Lodge in Bang Niang. All of these hotels are privately owned and run with a courteous and friendly staff.
Rooms in all of Khao Lak’s two-star hotels have either a private balcony or deck and some you the option of a fan or air-conditioning. They all have a television, a refrigerator, and a private bathroom. Most also offer free Wi-Fi. They are all fairly small hotels—the largest has 33 rooms and the smallest is quite intimate with just nine rooms.
Two-star resorts in Khao Lak are all quite new. A few of them have a lovely garden or offer views of the mountains. They all have a tour desk that can book you a day-trip of the local attractions, such as Khao Lak Lam Ru National Park, Khao Sok National Park, Phang Nga Bay, or the Similan Islands.
Some of these hotels have their own restaurant or coffee shop and offer breakfast to their guests for an added fee. One thing they all offer is free Wi-Fi in all public areas and a bilingual (Thai and English speaking) staff.
All of Khao Lak’s two-star hotels are within walking distance of restaurants and bars located along Petchakasem Road and on the main roads leading to the beaches (Nang Thong Road and Bang Niang Road). There are also restaurants along the beaches of Khao Lak, though most of these are attached to a high-end resort.
