5/5 - Excellent
Aside from the noisy hotel and disinterested staff, everyone i meet during my shorter than planned stay was charming, polite and helpful. Its a shame the hotel gives such a bad impression of a lovely area.

Amazing city next to the coast and undoubtsbly outside of Tsukiji’s fish market the best tasting freshly caught fish in Japan. Check out the market just before lunch and grab yourself a seat at a fish monger with stools and tables outside.
Overall great for the sushi restaurants, the market and the garden.
I loved the history of the samurai villages the most. They were so interesting and had such stunning gardens with the oldest trees.
Kanazawa has a lot to offer besides the "must see" sights -a bikeride along Saigawa down to the sea was very enjoyable -with japanese friends we had a memorable dinner at Kazutomo restaurant -we liked Aburaya House for its japanese style decoration
I enjoyed Kanazawa. The train station itself is impressive.
