Our shower was unclean and moldy. There were cobwebs. The walls were dirty and stained. The in-room coffee maker didn’t work and only decaf coffee was provided. No onsite staff to answer questions, address complaints or provide support

Laundry service is a creepy and narrow staircase into a basement that reeks of garbage. Reception was quick to answer any questions over WhatsApp but it was suggested that I just leave my card info in a draw downstairs at checkout to pay and found that the draws are filled with random stuff including room keys. Seems unsafe if everyone that’s staying has access. Not very quiet and not well cleaned. Won’t be staying again.

Buena ubicación pero atención por mejorar.
Bien ubicado pero para una reserva en pareja solo dejaron una toalla, intentamow contactar con la recepcion virtual 24/7 pero jamas nos contestaron, por lo que no supimos si nos podian guardar el equipaje. Tanpoco hacen limpieza diario.

Perfect location and really nice staff, but maintenance and cleanliness are extremely poor. We bought disposable dishes so we wouldn't have to use theirs. White socks on the floor turned black in no time.

Zentrales schönes Hotel
Nettes zimmer, sauber und komfortables Bett. Parken ist jedoch nicht, wie auf der beschreibung angegeben am hotel vorhanden, so dern man muss die öffentliche Garage ca 300m entfernt nutzen.

Bonjour, tres decu de la Proprete de ma chambre, chauffage au mur qui ne fonctionne pas, eau chaude dans la douche qui est devenu froide au bout de 3 minutes, nous n’avons pas reussi a faire fonctionner la tele car pas d’explication de l’apple TV, pas d’accueil sur place. Neanmoins le lit etait grand et confortable. Je ne reviendrais pas dans cet hotel

Lovely old building. Yes, stairs are original and steep but not a problem. Front view is of square used for parking - shame but didnt spend time looking out of the window. Great place to stay

Wij zaten in kamer 3. Het had vijf sterren kunnen zijn wanneer de puntjes op de I waren gezet. Was niet echt heel schoon (stof op de plinten, koelkastje beetje kladdig). Ook misten een aan tal zaken of waren kapot of was het gewoon net niet helemaal. Haddoekrekje bij wastafel mist. Rolgordijn bijn wastafel kan niet omhoog. Vriesvakje van koelkast is kapot. Beenruimte in toilet onvoldoende. Een haakje voor jassen had prettig geweest net als een tafeltje om je koffer op te kunnen plaatsen. . Bij de deurpost is de wand beschadigd. In de gang is het licht zo gedimd (heel sfeervol dat wel) dat je onvoldoende licht hebt om de code van je kamer in te toetsen. Beneden in de gang zagen we een muis (bij het dressoir), maar dat hou je niet tegen in een oud gebouw. Pluspunten: zeer centraal gelegen, veel horeca in de buurt, alles op loopafstand. Veel vrijheid doordat er een kitchenette op de kamer zit. Verrassing voor ons was dat de handdoeken wel werden verschoond en het bed werd opgemaakt, heel fijn. We dachten dat dat er niet bij zat. Unieke locatie, geen spijt van reservering en het is ook zeker niet te duur.

Disappointing
The location is great, but the room was disappointing. With no on site management. We had to ask for coffee and hand soap after we checked in. The advertised laundry room was full of garbage and had mouse droppings on the stairs down. They cleaned it up after we mentioned it but the room still smelled of trash.

The room had some small problems with cleanliness. The sheet on the bed had some marks, there was dust in the floor and the shower was not super clean. The location was great but for the price, a cleaner room was desired.

Great location. Get the keyless code
This apartment is in a superb location to explore the beautiful city of Ghent. The bed is very large, there’s a small courtyard, and a good shower. It would benefit from more attention to details - the tv isn’t tuned, there were no tea towels, soap dispensers were empty and coffee pods were already used. It could do with a little bit of an upgrade in the bathroom. All that said, it’s still a very nice place to stay. There was a problem receiving the keyless code to get in - be warned: check you have them well before arriving, and do tell Hotels customer care to send the email in their system. I hadn’t received the hotel provider’s email, but the Hotels system had it. All’s well that ends well, and I would highly recommend this place.

Our stay was not very good at the House of Edward. First, we received no codes to enter the property, and had to call 3 times to get through to someone. Once we finally reached a real person, they did send us the codes, but it took well over an hour to sort it out. The room had some nice features -- including a nice outdoor terrace, and a large comfortable bed, but it was not that clean. And, the kitchen lacked basic items such as dish towels, paper towels and a sponge. And, the shampoo dispenser in the shower was completely gone, and the conditioner dispenser was empty and didn't work anyway! We could hear people going up and down the stairs until at least 4am. And, there was a mouse that scampered across the floor when I turned on the light. Also, on Expedia, it states there is "parking available." What that translates into is a parking lot in front of the hotel that requires you pay every 5 hours outside the hours of 11pm and 9am. We were about 30 minutes late when we went to dinner, and ended up with a 40E ticket! And, if you have one of the upper floors, make sure you know there is no lift/elevator -- and the stairs are quite steep and narrow. I'd never stay here again -- I'd opt to book the Ghent River Hotel, right across the square.

Narrow, steep, winding staircase - very difficult to lug suitcases up to the room (we are over 75 years old!) top floor hand railing a bit loose which added to the risk. I dropped something under the bed and in retrieving it, found that the floor under the bed had not been swept (or maybe never was).

Horrible este hotel. Sucio, incómodo
Es muy sucio. Viajamos con una persona de 81 años y nos encontramos que no tenía ascensor y nos tocó subir todas las maletas por las escaleras. Las escaleras muy sucias, con telarañas. Cerca de la entrada hay una habitación supuestamente de laundry, pero al abrir la puerta, encontramos unas bolsas de basura que llevaban varios días pues olían horrible. Las habitaciones muy oscuras y sucias. Las paredes de las ducha con mucha suciedad. El piso es de madera y se oian pasos de varias personas caminando hasta altas horas de la noche. No lo recomiendo y es muy engañoso tanto la descripción como las fotos

The location was great and the beds absolutely amazing! For that we would definitely stay again. The studio was light and spacious, could do with a more thorough clean (behind the tv!) and the kitchen amenities could be improved (we had 2 bowls, no plates, no kettle, no bin) Overall a good place and will be back. Potencial desperdiçado
O hotel fica num prédio muito bonito e bem localizado. Não há recepção, o check in é feito on line, através de um código que supostamente seria enviado por email. Enfim, não recebemos o email e só conseguimos entrar no hotel após telefonarmos. O quarto era espaçoso, porém muito sujo. Chão, vaso sanitário, pia, box do chuveiro e até a roupa de cama com lencois sujos, fronhas furadas, e móveis estragados. O ar condicionado parecia estar em curto circuito, uma vez que fazia muito barulho, mesmo quando desligado Pra completar existe uma boate na mesma praça, cujo barulho imcomadou bastante. Tivemos que ligar novamente ao atendimento visto que os frequentadores da boate ligaram o som alto nos seus carros e ficaram bebendo e gritando logo abaixo da janela do nosso quarto. Só pararam quando a policia chegou, as 4h da madrugada. Uma pena. O hotel tem um potencial enorme, mas parece abandonado, sem qualquer manutenção.

De accomodatie bevindt zich op een topplek in Gent. De toegang is geregeld met een toegangscode voor de voordeur en de kamer. De uitrusting is wel toe aan het nodige onderhoud en een likje verf. Ook moet er wat gebeuren om het bestek- en serviesgoed weer compleet te maken. Het bed is heerlijk en de badkamer is prima in orde.

Liked the ground floor room and bed was comfortable. But needs some attention. Could have had a second mug in the room. Coffee machine leaks. Table needs to be replaced and outside area could use a good power wash and new chairs. Appreciated the laundry facilities however if the garbage was removed more often there would be less mice. A very scary basement!
