"It is a beautiful hotel, whereas it is really dark inside, also in the room (except of course when artificial light is switched on). Staff in general was not super friendly, with the exception of reception and the lady making the eggs. "L'hotel annoncé 5 étoiles n'est pas au standard des 5 étoiles européens. C'est propre, grand et avec un bon service mais c'est quand même bien dans son jus. "Big hotel. Big rooms. Great pools. Modern, with conference style feel. Remarkable buffet, no need to go up the road and pay extra. Chocolate fountain on two nights. No decaff tea - go next door to the cliff after dinner for that. VidaMar suited us as a great base (we didn’t rent a car), we used bus or booked trips. The ‘west’ jeep discovery tour is a must. Plus all the other go-to places. Walk to Camera de Lobos and get the bus back. Madeira exceeded our expectations. "
