"Generaly an old hotel could need some refurbishments. Our room was really humid, we notified the reception but noting was done, no working ventilation in the bathroom. Some spots of the hotel are not cleaned, dust and spiders found. The swimming pool had some rust patches. The breakfast was good on the first day afterwards the quality and quantity went down. Definitely book a spa appointment ahead of your reservation, as they were al booked up while we were there and the prices were quite reasonable. "Saccharum hotel is a really special place. It is a small paradise that has an infinity pool with an ocean view, amazing gardens, indoor pool, great staff, and really restaurants with amazing views of the ocean. It is located very close to Calheta sandy beach. It is highly recommended if you would like to have a calm and picturesque stay in one of the most beautiful hotels in Madeira. I will definitely come back here again. "
