"Tournon sur Rhone is a regular overnight stop for us. Hotel le Chateau is an old building splendidly situated overlooking the Rhone. We were a little concerned that next to the main road it might be noisy but the double (or triple?) glazing was excellent - we didn't hear any traffic. The breakfast options were outstanding. Will definitely re-book on our next trip."

"Very well situated hotel just opposite Pont D'Arc with ample private parking, a heated pool, terraces and comfortable areas both outside and inside to relax. The weather we had was unseasonal and cold (22nd April and today we saw a maximum of 8 degrees and a minimum whilst driving over a col, of 2 degrees!) and the bedroom was cold. We asked for an extra blanket which we got and was all we needed to keep warm but getting out of bed and going to the shower was cold! The management should have really put the heating on but perhaps this would have been costly for a hotel which was certainly not that busy. Staff were very helpful, pleasant and polite. Again, due to the cold, we didn't use our terrace but I would imagine that it would be very pleasant in the summer and certainly make the room more pleasant giving almost double the floor area! I imagine that in the summer this hotel would be very busy given its ideal location (be aware that at about 4km from Valon Pont D'Arc itself, you need a car if you want to eat in town or visit). The hotel has a restaurant which we didn't try as we ate in the town - we also skipped breakfast as we left early and grabbed something en-route."

"Friendly and efficient."

"The stay was fine and pretty efficient and the staff was friendly. However, the check-up ( 0nly slightly after their reception closing time was difficult). Neither IBIS nor Expedia had sent me the alphabetical access code to the night entry check in system, so had to get someone on an almost inaudible intercom system to explain to me the entry protocols and provide with the code that had not been sent. I had called earlier in the day to alert the hotel that I was not arriving until 21.30! Otherwise everything was fine. "

"We really did love this hotel. It had a lot of character and history. The staff were so friendly and kind. The A/C was very nice and really needed since it was a 103 degrees. It was great for one night. The restaurant downstairs is excellent and highly recommend. They provide ear plugs and it is much needed. Not sure what party was going on in the hotel but very difficult to sleep through. We stayed on a Saturday so that might be why. It went on all night. The breakfast was delicious and so worth it. "

"We stopped here while travelling down to cote d'azur. It would also be a great base to explore Lyon region. Hotel just off A7 with good size comfortabke room and well equiped bathroom both spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly making you instantly feel at home. Small pool area and terrace unexpected bonus. Located in quiet residential area. Around a 10 minutes walk into town centre along banks of Rhone where there is a good selection of restaurants. Secure car park another bonus. Hotel had everything we wanted."

"A great family resort / lots of facilities & perfect for our 3 days. The staff were lovely & the apartment good. However we were not informed there were check out rules & We would need to view those rules on the hotel website. We left our apartment tidy & closed all windows & washed up & put away our breakfast items. We left our bed linen in a pile for collection but did not empty our bin. After we left we were charged Euro 50 for not abiding with the check out rules. Such a disappointment after such a lovely stay - if we had known about the rules of course we would have followed them. The hotel should have written instructions visible within the apartment. After contacting the hotel to explain we were told in no uncertain terms that we had broken the rules."
