Stayed in a single room for myself. It was good for what I needed/wanted. It was basically just a place to crash at night, but had I spent more time there had the nice ammentities of air conditioning, fridge, microwave, and tv. Staff were super nice, and helpful in helping me find some good activities on my first day there in Chiang Mai. Don't book adventures in advance. They have a big pamphlet of adventures, you pick one, pat at the desk, and get picked up (door to door service for all adventures).
