I absolutely loved my stay at Fortune River View Hotel. I had a room facing the Mekong and it was beautiful. There is a walkway right out front of the hotel where you can walk, run, or ride your bike and it goes for quite a ways. I had dinner in the restaurant and not only was the food good, the portions were quite large.

Great position next to river, and good for the whole town no distance to anything. Comfotable airy rooms with everything you d expect from a 4 star. Breakfast very good especially the Thai oprion.

option for an overnight stay
A lovely, friendly welcome at reception. The room was smaller than expected but adequate. Watching the sunrise from our balcony was special. Mattress was very hard. Hotel location good.

This hotel was next to the Mekong River and the weather was awesome. It was very peaceful and relaxing. Great place to stay if you are in the area and the price was very reasonable. The rooms were clean and spacious. Most importantly the staff were super friendly and took care in a proving services to the guest.

A waste of a lovely setting
There was nothing wrong with the hotel, it just lacked character. A waste of a lovely setting. It would have been lovely to sit out with a g and t, overlooking the river, instead of a cafeteria style room.

Overpriced for the quality of the place. We did get a free upgrade to a room with a balcony overlooking the Mekong however there were no tables or chairs on any of them. Breakfast was OK, for the quality of the hotel it could have been much better. Housekeeping forgot our room one day eventually getting there evening time.

A hotel i was sorry to leave
A lovely appointed hotel overlooking the Mekong river.Comfortable clean bedrooms with lovely decor.Buffet breakfast with good choice of dishes.Would highly recomend this place.

Good hotel for one night stop before heading on
Large functional hotel next to river . Lovely views at sunrise and sunset over the Mekong . Room large , clean & comfortable. Swimmimg pool looked dirty so didn't use. Communal areas looked tired . .Breakfast fresh. No food available at restaurant in evening , so walked a short way upstream along riverside to first local place called Rim Nahm and excellent local food there!

Sunrise at the Mekong River.
This is a very nice property, located on the shore of the Mekong River. The on-site restaurant has good food and cold drink. We needed a hotel for our morning departure to take a slow boat down the Mekong River, and this was perfect. The balcony room, and sunrise over the river is enchanting. Highly recommended.

Newer hotel in Chiang Khong
We stayed here as an impromptu stop on our group motorcycle ride through northern Thailand. The rooms were modern and new. Bed was comfortable, staff very nice and they allowed us to park our motorcycles near the front of property. Staff were all very friendly and spoke some English. The onsite restaurant was very good for lunch, breakfast was fair. The property is located a little bit off the road/highway so you need to look carefully for the signage. There's not a lot going on in the town, so it's not great for tourists - but for our needs (a comfie night's rest) it was perfect. Hotel is located on the river, so I'd recommend spending the extra few $'s on a riverfront room.

Positives - room comfort, view from room, price, reception. Negatives - rubbish breakfast - would rate at 2 star. Overall a pleasant stay let down by the breakfast. Despite that, the food ordered at dinner was surprisingly good.

High class, comfortable hotel with amazing views
Superb hotel, absolutely pristine and modern We paid for the river view room and it is one of my favourite ever hotel room views. Also very convenient location and free bike hire.

An excellent Khong River view hotel
So impressed with the gorgeous Sun rise river view early in the morning from the hotel's room. The room is quite small and the bed is a 3 feet single twin bed or double queen bed which are too small. The staffs in the front are not professional compare to the restaurant's staffs.

Comfortable rooms with a great view
This is a new hotel with decent-size, spotless rooms with great river views. The included breakfast was adequate, although a little more variety would have been nice. Service was friendly and efficient. For the price, this hotel is a real gem!

Best in town.
Spent one night here prior to a Mekong River cruise. The facility is at the edge of town but is walking distance to town as well as where the long distance buses drop off so I didn’t need tuktuks but they are available. Friendly staff, cool towel and welcome juice at check in. Elevators if needed. Room was well above average, had a balcony facing the Mekong which was shaded in the afternoon and faced the sunrise in the morning. Bathrom was tiled, shower only and had a nice amenity package. The bed was a little firm by western standards. I used the adjacent river walk to go into town and had street food for dinner but the hotel restaurant was busy and the expats in town told me it was nicest in town. My room was directly over the restsurants patio which played soft music that ended around 9:00 pm. The outdoor lighting was subdued and the rooms drapes were able to block out all light. Breakfast buffet was also well above average. It is the last stop for the river cruise pickups so you don’t have to sit in the van while it makes its rounds. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Pay for the view.
This newly constructed hotel has a nice layout and a good feel about it. Very friendly staff, especially the breakfast staff and the breakfast was good with the best farm eggs I've ever had in Thailand and I live in Bangkok. The downside of this place is the room size, including the bathroom, with no desk in the room. There is a small cheap sofa against the wall with a small circular table which should be replaced with a desk and a chair. If you want to sit at a table ,you can sit on the balcony. However the room does with reasonable amenities like a safe, coffee and tea making facilities, robes and slippers, etc. Great river view.

Lovely river view
Overall a wonderful stay. Definitely request the river view. Very beautiful. I would have rated it a perfect 5, however after booking through Expedia, I contacted hotel directly to inquire about the possibility of a pick up from the immigration office as well as a couple of other queries. After 3 emails, I did not receive one response. When we arrived at the hotel, I explained my dilemma, the receptionist was very gracious, apologized for the central booking office and gave us an upgrade. Very kind.

Staff were extremely helpful. Our room was clean and modern with a small balcony overlooking the river. Reception staff were able to answer all our questions and the hotel is close to the main area and bus stops.

Nice hotel but bad dining experience
The room is new and clean. The bed is slightly small for a big size person but it’s comfortable. However, they need to manage their dining room better. I had my dinner at the hotel and they took 15 minutes to come back telling us they were running out of spaghetti then it took almost 1 and a half hour to get simple fried rice and we received the meal after the another table that came after us. We order vegan fried-rice but we received vegeterian fried rice(with eggs)The fried-pork was too hard to chew. It was such a horrible dining experience at the hotel.

Modern hotel overlooking the Mekong river
One of the nicest hotels I stayed at while in SE Asia - very modern, clean, and great view of the river. I stayed here for one night before taking the slow boat to Luang Prabang, Laos and would highly recommend it. Breakfast wasn't a buffet the day I was there which was disappointing but understandable since I was there in the slow season.

Brand new hotel with great views of the Mekong.
We stayed here overnight on the way to catch the boat to Luang Prabang. It is very New and very clean and tidy. Nice pool is a bonus. 5 min walk to the Main Street and the restaurant at the hotel was good food and reasonably priced. We found going with the chefs specials best.

The staff seemed obviously bored and didn't have much to do with my arrival at 11am being welcomed directly by name... I believe we received an upgrade but that wasn't communicated. Great views, delicious breakfast - will be back!

The hotel is newly built and not even have any grand opening, because half of hotel rooms are under decoration. So i got Mae Khong River view which it worths more than value of room price. I think price should be higher if everything's done. The rooms are so new. We all love it. Service is superb, though they are very new too but they all try their best to please us. Restaurant is great, you dont need to go out to find nice food. Price is reasonable yet food is so tasty. We all are so happy.
