Brighton Centre

Brighton Centre
From rock and pop concerts to children’s entertainment and sports tournaments, this is one of the most popular live event venues in Brighton.

The Brighton Centre is a multipurpose arena that hosts a variety of events such as conferences, music and sports. It has an audience capacity of 4,500 and an exhibition space of 53,820 square feet (5,000 square meters). Set on the seafront, Brighton Centre has been an integral part of the city’s cultural scene since opening in 1977. It has a Brutalist architectural design that was unique in England at the time of its inauguration.

On a wall inside the foyer is a plaque that commemorates the American actor and singer Bing Crosby. Crosby performed his last public live show here in October 1977. The arena holds other accolades from the music industry, including being the venue for the last concert by the British band The Jam. Today the Brighton Centre continues to welcome some of the biggest names in the music world.

Laugh along to the jokes of stand-up comedians and stage adaptations of television comedy shows. Experience the boisterous atmosphere of a professional darts competition and marvel at the talents of the Harlem Globe Trotters. Children will enjoy watching their favorite cartoon characters come to life at events such as Paw Patrol Live! Celebrity chefs and magicians also take to the stage.

Buy pre-show food and drinks at either the center’s café or restaurant. The restaurant’s floor-to-ceiling windows provide excellent views of Brighton Beach and seafront.

The venue is just a 15-minute walk away from Brighton train station. Several public bus lines stop at the adjacent Churchill Shopping Centre, where there’s also metered parking available. There’s also a covered bicycle parking area outside the building.

Events take place at the Brighton Centre year round. Refer to the center’s official website to see a schedule and to purchase tickets or visit the box office, which is open from Monday to Saturday. The box office doubles as a tourist information center where you can pick up city maps and public transportation timetables.
