What can I say? Maybe post a review from another guest. peaceful, quiet and safe Check in is a t 2:00 pm. I arrived a bit too early, so I had to wait for John to come home, so, meanwhile, I went for a walk to the beach, not too far from the building. John is a very interesting person, polite, helpful, acculturated (not many know about european history or history in general) and knowledgeable, a good cook and very welcoming. He gave me info about the island: where to eat, to walk and how to stay safe. The dogs: they are kind dogs, never seen them around the guests apartments, but only in the hall, which is open ONLY when John is in. They bark, sometimes, but that's what a dog is for, isn't it? The room is nice and cosy, clean and with a lovely balcony where to read or just relax watching the ocean, very basic but very adequate. The breakfast: I loved it! I took a picture of the gorgeous breakfast with a tea that looked like a botanical garden tea. It's true it is a bit expensive, but it's made with love. I think anybody "demanding or picky" should choose another hotel: this is exactly what you get for the price you pay. thank you for your comments which are well noted. it surprises me that you reviewed us. so let us be totally clear and upfront. please recall your accommodation aim was to sleep your family of seven persons into only two rooms where affordability being the key point as the family will be out mostly to attend a wedding. to make this happen we gave you two nights in an extra room for the price of one. this you did not pay. our booking and cancellation policy gave us rights demand that payment. your reason for early check out is cloudy issue promoted by the fact that members of your wedding party got free upgrade in a larger and more expensive hotel....as a matter of accuracy we are not in the country. we are 300 meters from the beach. three minutes drive from the airport. five minutes drive to the city. as for family matters. your family left us with excess laundry with stains, excessive garbage and damage to bedding. main portion of our business comes from children and youth groups. we accommodate at least four groups and have to turn away as many every year. we agree with you that parents with families are not always our "cup of tea"

Thank you for your one night stay that was really only for a few hours. You came quietly and left the same way. We the owners live on property and sorry that we missed to say goodbye and express to you our appreciation. Thank you for your review and for finding us.

Your review is an interesting one. Here is my reply. Water is an element that is plentiful on St Kitts. The Government takes good care of it and monitor its supply. In the summer they would limit it. Right now there is a lot of it and we like all households have it flowing at all times. Our guests usually request additional soap or shampoo. We provide two to three rounds of towels per person. Air condition is something we do not offer for environmental, health and cost reasons.Our usual guests prefer the constant South East breeze that graces the building 350 day a year. We are in two minds about hot water issue. We will not be able to offer such good affordable rates if we had it. When we upgrade the property probably hot water will be in our offering at higher base rate for our rooms. It is hard for me to comment on mosquito-born diseases. As far as I have noticed there were and still at the moment a very low count and almost no mosquito in St Kitts. aI have never heard of anyone contracting such illness abroad after trips to the island. I recall offering your family the use of the double bed sofa supplied in the room that was to add to your comfort and good night's sleep. Your refusal of the offer and decision to sleep mother, father, one twenty year old girl and one fifteen year old boy in two beds could only results in nightly discomfort.

thank you for finding time to review. we have for over 10 years pitched our property as an "affordable/cheap" option in a very expensive accommodation market in St Kitts Nevis. the large majority of our guests have indicated their preference of lower room costs to having tv and hot water. we do however offer free of cost an extremely strong WIFI connection where by all rooms can stream movies, internet, WhatsApp, emails simultaneous without drop out. An option our guest prefer. we state clearly on all our promotion our distances from shops, bars, eat places and beaches. we work closely with the better taxi drivers that provide the best taxi service available on island.

Thank you for taking the time to write your detailed review. We understand that there are guests that have issues with animals. We work very hard to balance the practicality of keeping our rescued dogs and added security they provide. The relationship with our animals have worked for us and the majority of our guests on many levels, including zero security breach for the past eight years. We recognize that some guests do not feel about animals as we do and therefore minimize animal contact with our guests unless requested. Our dogs are normally only visible to guests at nights while they perform security "duties" In our defense I am somewhat confused by your comment about hair from animals coming off your skin and other comments relating to smells. We have for sometime operated a House Theme Scent of Lemongrass Essential Oil that mixes well on the constant fresh south east Atlantic Ocean breeze that continuously flow through the house. Guests continue to appreciate, comment favorably and compliment. I agree that we can make entry and label to added to our room numbers. We should maybe state more clearly that we are animal friendly property so that guests with animal issues can make accurate judgement about our House.

thank you for taking the time to give us a review which will taken with sensitive consideration. we will continue our offering of affordable accommodation to people that wish to visit the Caribbean where the experience it the main objective. i totally agree that aircon, tv, fridge etc are available at other type of accommodation at sometimes more than three times the nightly rate we ask for. i fully agree, taxis on the island are expensive and often challenging to work with. as for distances. there are only 50 miles of road on the whole that takes just 45 minutes to drive around. many of our back packer guests walk to the airport and catch local buses to town which is just a five minutes drive. thank you for the compliment.
